>>"a man should only marry a woman with whom you would want to have a long passionate and intense affair. (The converse must hold for the woman towards the same man)"<<

If you want to define "passionate and intense affair" to at least include things other than sex, I might agree. Certainly, sexual attraction should be part of the mix, but the question is how much. The testosterone level may kick in here, but to think that any man (or woman for that matter) can carry on a passionate and intense sexual affair for a lifetime is like chasing the wind! It's not a bad thing to understand and accept that sexual passion waxes and wanes. There are other things -- good things, romantic things -- that sustain marriages. The hope that sexual passion and intensity will remain consistent throughout a lifetime is just plain silly!

The hope that romance and love and committment will last a lifetime is something else.

>>"Just the notions of a hopeless romantic"<<

Yes.

it is the little things that make life magic. Its when she does some little thing that makes you life easy. (like taping your favorite show when you forgot to set the VCR without asking, or just enjoying a long car trip, or my personal favorit: road trip on harley) It is always more that just sex. The little things that light up each others life add magic to those moments. Each others acts feed on each other, it makes you want to do more. No one wants to be romantic to some woman who has reduced herself to b*tch. (conversly a self absorbed b*stard gets no reciprocation) For my opinion, and consent of the woman in my life, sexual attraction is a healthy part of the mix. Its "making love" an expression of the daily intimacy we share.

These cheating women would never pass the "smell" test. Their attitude stinks. No one with want them other than as a source of physical relief. Used and dismissed. Its a sad existence.
