It seems lies Mrs. Dooley couldn't pick out men suitable for her. She didn't get along with the husband. Then the boyfriend turned state's evidence against her. Now he is banned from Louisiana for life, and she presumably will go to prison for "life," how long that might be, I am not sure.
And the minor children will suffer for the rest of their lives.

I have some VERY good friends, but I will *not* help them bury a body!

No, I did not mean that her "boyfriend" should have not reported that he helped her to bury the body. I was just saying that when she got caught up in total breakdown, she ruined not only her life but all of those around her. That's all I meant.
Her "boyfriend" cannot set foot in LA for the rest of his life, as I understand it. So he was "banished" as his punishment.

Now he is banned from Louisiana for life...<p.That's a nice law: give the perp immunity and then ban him from your state. Thanks, LA, but we don't need your morally weak and unethical people running around the rest of the country. Keep him and deal with him yourselves. Don't foist him on us!

...and she presumably will go to prison for "life," how long that might be, I am not sure. If this is in Louisiana, "life" pretty much means "life".

Yea, I know some states have "life" that means "life" and others where it might mean "eight years." Each state has different kinds of "truth in sentencing" regulations. Often many aid the criminal element at the expense of the law-abiding public. Do you know what states have "life" that is NOT truly "life"? If so, could you post some of them?
To: Ditter
I was not commenting on anything you said, I was just saying *I* will *not* commit a crime to help my friends.

This is like some of the businesses that "ban" shoppers for life if they are caught "shoplifting," isn't it? Maybe LA got this idea from businesses. Of course, it is also in Genesis, when Cain was banished from society for slewing Abel?
In the Age of Ryder (did I get the name right?), is there still "shoplifting"?

Texas is a minimum of 30yrs before parole considered.Parole is rarely granted first time.We did have a real problem.

Maybe "shoplifting" is "creative shopping." Or "helping the poor -- YOURSELF."
To: Theodore R.
No, I'm afraid I'm not that familiar with how the various states' sentencing laws. But if they treat the "lifer" women in Louisiana the same as the lifer men, life pretty much means life, or at least 20-30 years, minimum.

I have heard politicians say that shoplifting is caused by a "bad economy."

you have to remember in which state this is. i know a few of these parties involved in this including the mr dooley . i would think that mr kosden would not want to come to this state any more any way. the punishment should have fit the crime. he should have got something more severe than a good ole boy smack on the hand.
