These people forget that George Sr. was himself, CIA Director, and it would take a whole lot more than a questionable line in a State of the Union Address to cause a falling out between the CIA and the Bushes. I'm sure there are probably still a few senior careerists at Langley that got their start under George Senior. I guess the dems have been revising history long enough that they've forgotten how to look at it objectively and in perspective. Their buying into their own lies and will pay for them dearly....#8-)
Excellent points!

your is the best post of the thread so far, this is exactly right. Laurie Mylorie laid it all out with John Gibson this afternoon: the CIA missed/did nothing about the WTC 93 attack (which was backed by Iraq), and this led to 9/11, and the CIA continues to coverup Iraqs connection with 9/11. And they are covering up the Atta meeting with Iraqi intelligence in Prague, and the passing of the anthrax too.

Well those commericals were drawn up, but as I understand it they haven't been aired except on the news channels. I believe that's what they said.
The problem is that the Dems have been saying someone needs to take responsibility and resign. Now that it's not Bush or his Cabinet, they are going to want someone to resing in order to make their comments look justified.
I think it's very possible someone's head will have to roll. We shall see. I have no way of knowing for sure. The talking heads seem to think this issue is going to be the only thing talked about on the weekend shows.
Along these lines, I remember a ton of things that come out regarding Clinton on Thursdays and Fridays, none of which ever showed up on the Sunday shows.
Then you have folks stating that truth is so important to the US public. These are the 'is-is' people, who swooned at Clinton's ability to lie his posterior off constantly.

"Next week is going to be very interesting, with Tony Blair in D.C. I've heard there will be a joint press conference. That will be interesting.: I agree. I'm looking forward to a very bad week for the Dems.

Okay, it will be interesting to watch this play out. Thanks for the comments.

Thank you Phil. I'll give this a review later tonight.

"I've never liked him. I hope he gets fired for this. "I still don't see where anyone did anything wrong. Tenet is taking the blame for the CIA approving a comment that came from British intelligent that was based only in part on forged documents.
It looks to me like Tenet is apologizing just to deflate the rat's imaginary issue. If that's the way the Bush admin wants to play it ok, but I hate sacrificing people for politics. I hate apologizing when you really have done nothing wrong. It sets a bad precedent.

The idiot has given the Pubbies their talking point for the next week...

Bush may have an "ace up his sleeve" but I can't believe he allowed this entire week of his Africa trip to be dominated by these questions just to pull out his ace.

Oh, the Dems dont listen. Rush has said pretty much the same thing. This is classic "The Art of War" stuff. Karl Rove is supposedly an expert in the use of that philosophy.
As for "Snort" he was the best, period. He was the first man to qualify in the Tomcat as an Ensign. A real natural for the profession. He went on to command a squadron(VF-33), attended and later taught at Topgun and commanded the entire Atlantic Fighter Wing. Yes, he was that damn good. He now flies on the airshow circuit as a demo pilot.

Can you please give a link to a story where Britian is still standing by the uranium story? I've got a rabbid liberal that is claiming otherwise.
Thanks

Oh, also, there were a few who WERE bad, that did NOT want to be. Thanks to Congress, the Navy has it's own Affirmative Action problem. Not minorities, but women.

I'd suspect we'd want someone with much more international experience, and more than likely promoted from within. I'd interview past directors and look for someone with some good ideas for making sure the agency is as effective as it can possibly be.
To: DoughtyOne
its an agency in need of a total housecleaning, why promote an insider?

Brian Wilson on FoxNews just reported that down on the street Terry McCauliffe drove by shouting to him out of his car,
"I'm telling you, Bush is gone." Wilson could barely contain his laughter.

First of all, your friend Snort sounds like a pilot's pilot among the Navy Pilots, (whom I feel are the world's best!).
Yes the old Rope a Dope routine was set up by GW and Tony last year and early this year.
The Rats here and the socialist/commies in the UK are so predictable. They are following their pied pipers and getting ready to go over the cliffs.
