Chilean scientists said on Friday their study of a huge blob of flesh found on a Pacific beach about three weeks ago concluded it was the carcass of a sperm whale, ending speculation of a giant octopus.

Scientists have been baffled by the 40-foot-long (12-meter) mass of gelatinous tissue found on a remote beach in southern Chile, with initial hunches ranging from whale blubber to a disputed species of giant octopus.

When a sperm whale dies at sea, it rots until it becomes a "skeleton suspended in a semi-liquid mass within a bag of skin and blubber," the scientists said. Eventually, the skin tears and the bones sinks while the skin and blubber float.

And, they're positive it's not Teddy?

How did you rule Teddy out? Sounds like him. Do you trust Chilean Scientists? They just discovered salt a few years ago. They are working on inventing the shovel.

How did you rule Teddy out?

Simple... Teddy never got wet. It's not in his nature.

Yes that's true. You are too clever for me. I just wanted to make sure we weren't trusting those silly scientists.

If their scientists could just read they could save a lot of time. The Chilean Minister of Science Ugh Argh Rodrigues was recently quoted as saying, "In the near future we envision that we may be able to artificially light our homes." Science is a marvel.
