(Mississippi) Factory Killer's Memorial Interrupted
LasVegasSun.com ^ | July 10, 2003

The girlfriend of the factory worker who killed five fellow employees this week interrupted a memorial service Thursday by standing up in the church and saying the gunman also should be viewed as a victim.

Mayor John Robert Smith was speaking during the community service when Shirley Price stood and spoke: "Excuse me. Don't criticize this man. He was human too ... don't exclude him. He was a victim, too. ... He was a kind and loving human being."

Price broke into tears and left the church. Her boyfriend, Doug Williams, committed suicide after shooting 14 co-workers, killing five, at the Lockheed Martin aircraft parts plant Tuesday.

Outside the First Baptist Church, Price told The Associated Press that Williams had "felt like everybody was against him," knew he had problems and that Lockheed officials had ignored him when he sought help.

Price said Williams was taking medicine for depression and high blood pressure. She said Williams was buried earlier Thursday in a private ceremony.

Co-workers said Williams, 48, had had run-ins with management and several fellow employees. Authorities are attempting to contact individuals who may have firsthand knowledge about any behavioral problems displayed by Williams.

The better question is, "Why was the killer's girlfriend at the memorial for the victims?"

I sent this to a fellow Freeper about a theory I have had about shootings around Anti-Gun legislation. The AWB is the biggest news item out there and the ANTI's are going to use EVERY tragedy like this one to flout their desire to disarm us Be wary..

Re: [Missouri Governor] Holden vetoes House concealed gun measure

It's my contention that there are certain psychologists/psychiatrists that have patients who are on the 'edge' of going 'postal', for lack of a better term, and use their influence and drug deprivation/prescription to push these people to that edge of actually going through with the actions to rid them of anger/pain/voices, whatever.

What happens is we have a group of mental cases, and all of the ones who have done these shootings have been mental cases, in the care of some self rightgeous doctors.

If you go back and look at the shootings that were landmark in some of the most restrictive gun-control measures you would find ALL of them either had not taken their prescription medicines, or were 'quiet' individuals who hadn't had any problems before. Yet, we find out that they DID have problems they were seeing 'professional' help.

Now, with the prescription of mind-altering drugs, like Ritilan, Prozac, and others, we have a number of potential people who, have access to weapons, and the capability to be 'guided' to resolve their problems by killing the problems. Literally.
So you see, when I talk about this I get a lot of scoffing and 'it isn't possible' remarks. BUT there is too much coincidence about the way these shootings have occured, and at the precise moment gun laws are being rolled back or CCW introduced.

This is one more that goes along with that theory. Williams was taking medicines for depression, and high-blood pressure.

This story has some wonderful examples of the bias of the ultra-left wing media of our country. Williams is always referred to as a "racist," never a "white racist," as though only whites and NEVER blacks might be guilty of racism.

Some of the relatives of the black dead have mentioned that management should have known about the anger of this killer. They are right. But, my bet is that the killer was a union member, a member of the IAM. His union brothers certainly knew of his tendancies and probably shared them. But, the media will never mention the union connection or hint at the possibility that the union had any obligation. The ultra-left wing media (most of whom are practising union members, themselves) NEVER mentions blame or responsibility as accruing to one of their major constituencies, organized labor. Any criminal investigation should include extensive analysis of what the union knew and what they did about this guy. It won't.

This is one more that goes along with that theory. <.i>

It got to the point a while back that I started betting on prozac involvement everytime I heard on a mass killing spree. Won so many times that nobody takes my bets anymore. Only lost when some other drug was used instead of prozac.

The better question is, "Why was the killer's girlfriend at the memorial for the victims?"

The shooter's girlfriend also worked at the plant. She reportedly begged him to stop; he said he would, and then turned the gun to his own chest.

From this story, it sounds as if this was a memorial for the five killed by the gunman. That the mayor was there does not seem surprising.

I worked in an office where the young man on a desk opposite me, leaned over and very quietly asked me if I knew anyone in the Governors office.

I told him I did. He asked me to find out where the Governor was getting his food. I asked him why he wanted to know, and he said "because they are poisoning me" and I want to get my food where the Governor gets his.

I looked him right in the eye and said. Listen to me. Do not come to work tomorow. Go to the doctor and tell him what you told me. You are developing unfounded fears and you need help now.

The next day he didn't come to work and never returned to work. Two years passed and I met him on the street. He gave me a hug and told me he had gotten treatment and was doing just fine in another line of work. He looked good and I hope he holds up.
