July 10, 2003 -- Kobe Bryant's alleged sex-assault victim is an aspiring chanteuse who drove a thousand miles for a shot at stardom on Fox's blockbuster "American Idol," a friend told The Post yesterday.

Despite being cut from the hit reality show, the alleged victim's a talented pianist and songwriter who hopes to become a music teacher when she graduates college, friends said.

And people are forgetting that he just had knee surgery. He still would have been in pain and would have been taking strong pain medication. I doubt his libido would have been strong at that point in time, even for a white woman (for all you racists out there).

There is that, although orthoscopic knee surgery doesn't usually result in huge amounts of pain. He would have been somewhat restricted in his movement, though, I'd think.

My bottom line here is that if he had wanted some female companionship, I'm sure it was available and willing. I've never seen a sports celeb of his caliber who didn't have groupies who follow them around. Why on earth would he assault a hotel employee? That just doesn't make sense to me.

So here's the purported victim's friend, and even she admits that her first reaction was that it was a fabrication?? I'd love to find out what it was about her friend that made her assume that. Of course, that changed when she found out that the accused was a wealthy black basketball player. That just strikes me as strange. "I assumed she was lying, until I found out it was Kobe Bryant."

I believe you read the paragraph incorrectly. Read it in context. The friend meant that she thought the story was a fabrication until she found out who the ACCUSER was. Not the ACCUSED.

Kidd's wife is a media WHORE. She was doing local news in Arizona, but had to get out of town after Kidd gave her a black eye. (TV adds 5 pounds to bruises) Kidd's riches and fame are the only reason she married him. Jason Kidd is barely literate. Money and basketball talent are ALL that he has going for him. The wife has been trying to land another gig since she healed up.
