July 10, 2003 -- Kobe Bryant's alleged sex-assault victim is an aspiring chanteuse who drove a thousand miles for a shot at stardom on Fox's blockbuster "American Idol," a friend told The Post yesterday.
Despite being cut from the hit reality show, the alleged victim's a talented pianist and songwriter who hopes to become a music teacher when she graduates college, friends said.

I don't believe this article mentioned the DNA test Kobe supposedly had done, either. I suspect that this will provide the proof one way or the other.

Wonder why he ended up in the hospital? Hopefully, he didn't come down with a rash or anything . . .

Would you say you are treating Kobe's accuser "with a certain degree of courtesy and respect, unless that person behaves in a dangerous, threatening, or discourteous manner."?

I'm sorry, the blue dot mask is what the "alleged victim" had covering her face so as not to reveal her identity all during her testimony at the William Kennedy Smith trial a few years back. CourtTV superimposed it over her face.

Speculation is that he went to have a DNA test done--it's not clear whether it was done with or without police insistance.

"The size and amount of damage can point out if wounds were self inflicted or not. It takes a truly nutty person do real damage to themselves. "
Nutty or greedy. It happens all the time...people injure themselves every day to collect insurance. Think about it. A girl, probably semi-anorexic if she's trying for American Idol. She twists the skin on her upper arms...creates a nice bruise. Scratches herself a little with her fingernails. Not much pain. Heals fast.
I could be wrong, but I smell a set-up here. Poor girl didn't make it on American Idol, but has another chance at instant fame and fortune. It follows.

Since when are accusers afforded anonymity? Presumably rape is a horrible crime, but still.

Kobe was given a DNA test at the hospital.

Uh-oh....Bryant's situation just got a lot worse. These facts don't jive with the "golddigger" image Bryant's defense would have hoped to paint of the plaintiff.

The flag in this story, to me, involves the call for room service. If room service
wasn't available, why did a hotel employee decide to go to the room anyway?
None of us knows the truth. Not yet.

What should she do...what should she do? Take the food...take the food. Now, a few bruises and scratches and a delay in coming back down to the lobby area. Work up a good histerical fit. Hmmmm... I have a taste for cynicism, but Kobe's furtive departure adds 'cred' to the crooners song.

Oh, I see. Thanks. Presumably this was done voluntarily in which case maybe he is innocent . . . ?

Riiiight. Of course a woman would never do anything like make up a story about getting raped. Get real.

"Reading this article, it appears that Kobe had a bout of "guilty" conscience by leaving early without checking out.....her story has legs...IMHO."
He had already been informed that an acusation had been made against him when he left. Would you have stayed in that hotel after having been informed that an accusation had been made against you?
I think not. Don't rush to judgement.

"make up a story about getting raped"
I did not see the word "rape" used in any of the news stories about this incident. "Sexual assault" does not mean rape, necessarily. A lot of things can be called "sexual assault" that aren't rape.
If it were rape, then this would be a lot simpler, I think.

Yeah...that oughta do it. Should be good for a quarter million or so. He's good for it. Are you the same one that called Linda Tripp ugly?
