July 10, 2003 -- Kobe Bryant's alleged sex-assault victim is an aspiring chanteuse who drove a thousand miles for a shot at stardom on Fox's blockbuster "American Idol," a friend told The Post yesterday.
Despite being cut from the hit reality show, the alleged victim's a talented pianist and songwriter who hopes to become a music teacher when she graduates college, friends said.

Reading this article, it appears that Kobe had a bout of "guilty" conscience by leaving early without checking out.....her story has legs...IMHO.

I heard she's picking out a nice blue dot mask for the trial.
This is the first I heard she was white. Will that change perceptions? Hmmmm....

50,000 people go to a baseball game, but the game was rained out. A refund is then due. The team is about to mail refunds when the Congressional Democrats stopps them and decrees that they send out refund amounts based on the Democrat National Committee's interpretation of fairness. After all,if the refunds are made based on the price each person paid for the tickets, most of the money would go to the wealthiest ticket holders. That would be unconscionable! |

"but now that I know who it is, that changed my whole perspective."
Hmm...let's see...an American Idol failure, now working the night shift doing room service at a luxury hotel. Rich basketball player calls for room service after hours. Rich, black basketball player.
What should she do...what should she do? Take the food...take the food. Now, a few bruises and scratches and a delay in coming back down to the lobby area. Work up a good histerical fit.
Yeah...that oughta do it. Should be good for a quarter million or so. He's good for it.

Leave it to the NY Post to be the first with the seemy "details."
"her story has legs
Yep. Hotel employee rather than "date". We'll see. I think Kobe and Laci will dominate TV this summer.

If Kobe is guilty, he needs to remember confession is good for the soul. If he pays this woman off in return for her silence, watch his career fall apart like the "gloved one". He then may be replaced by the "glove". If he is innocent, he needs this aired out in a public courtroom, and let the facts speak for him.

The cops say they have physical evidence. I'd wait before sliming Bryant's accusor.

Now the folks in CO are getting all kinds of vicious hate email for daring to make an accusation against 'their' guy Kobe.

The report I read said that the bruises and scratches were the physical evidence. Hmmm.....could be self-inflicted, I think.

I read the story wholly different from you.
Kobe looks like the victim of a shake-down!

To what? I see this as a bald-faced shakedown, and nothing more. Kobe's never been in any trouble, and there's no particular reason to believe that he did anything. Indeed, the prosecutor hasn't even filed any charges.
I smell a bogus accusation here.

The size and amount of damage can point out if wounds were self inflicted or not. It takes a truly nutty person do real damage to themselves.

Don't hold your breath. It's beginning to look like there won't be a prosecution, so you'll hear no evidence at all if that happens.
It all sounds fishy to me.

it can be only one of two things...
Either she's lying or Kobe did do something.
I wonder if the sports media will rally behind Kobe.
You just never know. Everyone thought Jason Kidd was a great guy, but then he turned out to be a wifebeater. *shrugs* Guess we'll just have to wait and see how this plays out.
To: onyx
Kobe looks like the victim of a shake-down! Where do you see that? It sounds like she's an employee of a resort catering to the neediness of the wealthy. For some reason she went to the room, while on duty.
I'd like to know if any of his crew were around. And if alcohol was involved.
