By their fruits, ye shall know them. How many liberals do you know that actually put America's safety high on their list? All those who love their country, protect it. But liberalism has been an anti-America hatefest since the late '60's.

If HHH was a liberal, and HHH was anti-communist, then it can't be true, as Coulter suggests, that liberals don't love their country and cannot be counted as patriots. Based on what I've read, she simply "overstates" her data (to put it kindly), makes herself look foolish, and ultimately delivers an ineffective product.

Joe Lieberman is a liberal. Joe Lieberman is not anti-American. My sister is a liberal. My sister is not anti-American.

Some liberals *are* anti-American, including some in the Senate. But I'd also call many "conservatives" anti-American, such as Pat Buchanan and others who continue to trash our president during time of war. I see them on Free Republic every day.

So now we're calling differences of opinion "lies"?

Have we had the pleasure of discussing history before on an FR thread? I can't remember you on FR at all.

I would like to see the exact quote by McCarthy. I got the impression from reading the book that Marshall was more of the "not too bright" type as opposed to the "Soviet spy" variety.

"Is it true that liberals don't love America?"

They like the weather and the scenery, possibly the food. As for the essence of the American nation, no. They fight it at all angles. sorry, but America was NOT concieved as a socialist nation, and that is what Leftists want.

However, now that that attempted swerve has been dealt with, back to the more important questions:

1. Were there Communist agents in high places in the U.S. government?

2. Was their possible presence ignored or disregarded by the DEMOCRATS in power at the time?

3. Has the Left, unfailingly over the past century, taken positions ultimately AGAINST America?

These were Coulter's central points. They were fully on-the-mark.

"Do you believe..."

...that 2iron is a trolling disruptor? Considering that he signed up here a year ago and has exactly three posts to his name, all slamming Ann Coulter whilst ignoring her central conclusions, YES.

1. Were there Communist agents in high places in the U.S. government?

No doubt. Numerous historical works have already established this.

2. Was their possible presence ignored or disregarded by the DEMOCRATS in power at the time?

Apparently not. Was it not HST who prosecuted the Rosenburgs? See Horowitz's review for more on this.

3. Has the Left, unfailingly over the past century, taken positions ultimately AGAINST America?

Liberals are not all leftists. It's not even true that all leftists have taken positions against America. Note Nat Hentoff and Christopher Hitchens. Why can't Coulter deal with shades of gray?

After the 6th or 7th "name a democrat traitor" comment from Chris, Coulter replied "you're interviewing me about a book I didn't write'.

Cracked the wife & I up.

Huh?..."anti-American"? Buchanan is certainly anti-neocon, but so are lots of conservatives (count me in on that). Buchanan was also against the Iraq war, and was up front about his concerns and disagreements with that policy.

Straight forwardly stating one's opinion.....how the heck do you arrive at anti-Americanism from such an American endevor?

The problems Bush is having now are not the fault of the critiques of the Buchanans of the right....perhaps the biggest clue to problem's root can be found by watching the disembling of the pro-war neo-cons as they attempt to put a lot of distance between themselves and their neo-con-artistry.

Hey...have you seen Richard Perle anywhere these days?....He seems to be hiding from his stink.

Here is the bottom line:
1) Not all democrats are liberals, but, most are.
2) Not all liberals are democrats, but if they're not, they're members of the communist party, socialist party, gay movement, feminist movement, etc., or a few notable RINOs.
3) Most liberals hate America and the good people it it.
4) The modern democrat party almost always takes positions against what is "good for America."
5) On ocassion, a liberal democrat will vote in favor of something good for America, but, a) he/she probably made a mistake or b) the vote was cover for a coming election.
6) The democrat party is a clear and present danger to America, but many if not most couch-potato, Jerry Springer watching democrats don't realize it 'cause they're too stupid.

Do you believe General Marshall was part of a vast Communist conspiracy? McCarthy said he was and the awful thing about McCarthy was I'm sure even he didn't believe it. This country made it through the 20th century because of men like Marshall and in spite of people like McCarthy. Ignorance is bliss for a great many people who frequent this forum....McCarthy was a pig and blackened the name of all those who legitimately fought communism. - posted by 2iron

McCarthy wasn't a pig, but his detractors were and are. - posted by Trace21230

George Catlett Marshall (1888-1959) was a failed Army man starting in 1902 until 1933 when he came under the protective wings of KGB "Agent 19" Harry Hopkins and pinko Eleanor Roosevelt. In 1933 he was promoted to Colonel. In 1939 he was appointed Chief of Staff and four-star General of the Army over more than 400 hundred more qualified and senior individuals.

Marshall was deeply involved in the treason at Pearl Harbor and is the person who committed the most massive perjury about it and was the primary person responsible for ordering the destruction of Army documents concerning it (See John Toland's Infamy, 1982).

Marshall's order of October 18, 1941, to MacArthur to fight on the beaches was the basis for sacrificing 31,095 Americans at Bataan.

Marshall was largely responsible for the incompetent handling of the war including the second front, lack of fuel to Patton, the failure to take Berlin and Prague. See the brilliant Retreat From Victory by Senator Joseph McCarthy, Devin-Adair, 1951.

Marshall was a primary advisor to FDR during the treason at Yalta. He advised giving all concessions to Russia so it would enter the war against Japan after we had done all the dirty work. See Kubek pages 134 and 140.

Aid to the Communist takeover of China. After FDR, Marshall was the man most responsible for giving China to the Communists. Truman sent Marshall on a mission to China November 27, 1945. This mission was "one of the major factors contributing to the Red conquest of that nation" (Kubek, page 323). Marshall had been the person who appointed the American Communist General Stillwell to be Chiang Kai-Shek's Chief of Staff. Marshall favored a coalition government giving Communists power and enforced an embargo against the Nationalists. The net result of Marshall's 15 month mission was summed up in this sober epitaph by General Chennault: "The trend of a gradually stronger central government was reversed and the military balance shifted again in favor of the Chinese Communists" (page 343, How the Far East Was Lost, Dr. Anthony Kubek, 1963). When Marshall went to China the Communists had 300,000 badly equipped troops confined to a small area of China. He left them as 2,000,000 well equipped troops.

Truman appointed Marshall Secretary of State 1947-1949. His first order of business was to engineer the firing of anti-Communists like J. Anthony Panuch from the State Department. Communist agents flourished.

On June 5, 1947, at the Harvard Commencement he announced the "Marshall Plan" which was aid to developing countries. At the time this was the primary directive of Stalin to the Communist Party, USA - to get the U.S. to give aid to developing countries. By having Communist agents at the State Department direct the aid, the Soviet Union was able to conserve its resources while achieving all of its objectives. Marshall was Stalin's tool.

How the Far East Was Lost, Dr. Anthony Kubek, 1963 is the best exposition of how Marshall single-handedly gave China to the Communists.

Ann said many of the same things Richard Rhoads said in "Dark Sun".

ie that the USSR got its U235 for its first bomb through "Lend Lease" which was driven by the US State Department which overruled Los Alamos.

Funny, Rhoads was't called a "nutcase" by the media.

I just read an article by Pat where he refers to the Civil War as "Mr. Lincoln's war" and suggests that we never should have fought it. This, combined with what I believe is a streak of anti-semitism and a lot of other statements he's made about Iraq, lead me to believe that he is anti-American--at least anti the America I believe in.

But perhaps I'm making a mistake, perhaps the same mistake that Ann Coulter is making.
