ie that the USSR got its U235 for its first bomb through "Lend Lease" which was driven by the US State Department which overruled Los Alamos.
Funny, Rhoads was't called a "nutcase" by the media.
- Harry Truman was indeed President when the Rosenbergs were tried. However, they were also placed in a highly sensitive position on his watch. I'm NOT saying that he was directly responsible for hiring them or placing them, but as Coulter makes clear in her book, he didn't seem to see Communists as a threat, either. He referred to the Soviets as "our friends" AFTER WWII, when they surely were not. He also only began to crack down on the pervasive Communist influence in the government AFTER the Republicans took control of congress. At the very least, he was indifferent to the fight against them. Korea springs to mind as an example of a halfhearted attempt.
As for all liberals not being Leftists...there is a reason why I use the term "Leftist" instead of "liberal". As far as I can see, the difference is only one of degrees. A liberal will support Leftist positions, ultimately. Also, whether he knows it or not, a "liberal" is just a tool for a Leftist. Since he votes that way, the ultimate result of his actions is a Leftist/Socialist state, regardless of his "intentions". As for the two you mention, some people are not what even they themselves THINK they are. Hitchens in particular has broken with enough of the Left's positions that he is functionally a right-leaning libertarian.
As for shades of grey, sorry, but I don't particularly like them either. Call me a Neanderthal, but those "grey" shades more often than not conceal "Red". I prefer not to subject myself to paralysis-through-analysis.
