July 9, 2003 -- WASHINGTON - Vice President Dick Cheney, who has had four eart attacks, got a clean bill of health yesterday after his yearly physical exam.

Cheney's high-tech pacemaker, which turns on if his heart gives out, hasn't needed to spring into action since being implanted in June 2001, according to his spokeswoman. "All the news is very good," said Cheney spokeswoman Jennifer Millerwise.

Is Cheney's ticker good enough to run for 2008, though? Or is GW planning on endorsing his brother in 2008? If so, we need to think ahead. I say no to a 'Bush-Lite'. GW is 'lite' enough as it is.

Cheney, 62, underwent an electrocardiogram, or EKG, an echocardiogram and a stress test at George Washington University Medical Center

Well, God bless Dick Cheney, and I hope he lives to be 100-but this "information" is meaningless.

He has premature (and highly significant) coronary artery disease, with risk factors for progression. He has had what I assume is an automatic defibrillator, not a pacemaker, implanted at what is a very young age for that procedure.

AND he is working under extremely high stress.

If this is a "clean bill of health", the term has no meaning.
