That, plus the author has quite a bit of self-loathing (a prerequisite for today's liberals). I bet that the projection of hatred stems from that, at least in part. The sickness of inexplicable hatred is so prevalent among the cultists (liberals, I mean) that there has to be some general explanation like that.
