A woman who says she was raped by a top aide to Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver had no signs of drugs in her body, tests reportedly found.
Investigators have been looking for the presence of drugs, because the 22-year-old Assembly staffer claims she felt incapacitated at the time of the alleged rape last month by Michael Boxley.
Preliminary tests of the woman's blood and urine showed no traces of narcotics or "date-rape" drugs, according to a police source cited by the Albany Times Union newspaper. However, the tests were conducted more than 24 hours after the alleged attack, and experts say it's possible any drugs were already out of her system.
The woman accused Boxley, Silver’s chief counsel, of raping her in her Albany apartment after he gave her a ride home from a restaurant where they were drinking with colleagues.
Boxley has pleaded not guilty and is free on bail. He was also accused of assaulting another Assembly employee in 2001, but charges were not filed.

Although I do start wondering when there is lots of smoke- it generally means either there is fire or there is someone blowing smoke for some purpose.
