The age of consent has dropped for adults to have homosexual sodomy (the only type of sex that same sex unions may engage in) with a partner. In the majority of states that is under 18 (adults and minors). Even some states that permitted homosexual sodomy still kept minors from "consenting" to this aberant act with an adult.
Romeo & Juliet clauses in the laws permit even younger pairings among members of the same sex than normal age of consent barriers (below the age of consent as long as the persons are within several years age). This has been the case for heterosexual pairings and has been expanded to homosexual pairings.
Since the age of consent has DROPPED between adults and minors, how does this not fit a definition of sexual molestation? It all depends on just how mature the kids are we are talking about and if they can really consent to such an act with an adult.
With teen sex legitimized, the question is only how early can they begin?
There are some who teach "sex positive" thinking and believe that young children should not have their sexual persona go dormant (as is generally believed). They believe that they should be encouraged to be sexual beings.
Look at allaboutsex.org for some examples of this left coast line of thought.
AGAIN
From the Office for the Department of Redundancy and Short Attention Spans, it means annulled or voided or undone, get a grip.
Yes they've been normed to the age of consent for heterosexual couples.
Romeo & Juliet clauses in the laws permit even younger pairings among members of the same sex than normal age of consent barriers (below the age of consent as long as the persons are within several years age).
These laws are usally just a lesser offense than full fledged child rape. I'm not aware of any that make these parings legal. And you might be suprised at how long these laws have been around.
No, that's why adults who have sex with them (heterosexual or homosexual) can go to jail in Kansas. But when that adult is less than four years older it's considered a lesser offense.
Spin it how you want but those are the facts.
Rape is a traumatic experience, regardless of who does it to whom.
I know young men who were abused by older women in whose care they were entrusted. Nothing "less traumatic" about it at all.
Nonetheless, in order for your "homosexual rape is more traumatic" argument to hold up, you would also have to poll the young women to find out if they would prefer to be violated by a man or by another woman.
That is why it's going to be imposed by the courts. The SCOTUS will wave their magic gavel and HEY-PRESTO! we have a new constitutionally protected Right!
And 100 years from now you will still find people like tdadams making the stupid argument that sexual fetishes are somehow akin to skin color.

There's your answer, Clint. He wants no AoC. Somebody get the camel out of the tent.

Actually, all of this garbage has crept up on us bit by bit. Homosexuals aren't destroying society, society has destroyed homosexuals by tossing all its moral foundations. Once heterosexuals began ignoring "family values" by embracing free love and divorce, could homosexuals have been far behind?
If we're going to have a prayer vigil, it should be for all the hypocritical heterosexuals who are finally waking up to the assult that they actually started. Only if they repent will we be saved.
Well, I hate to disappoint you but actually I don't.
In order to demonstrate a rational basis for disparate sentencing for homosexual and heterosexual rape one would simply have to demonstrate that it happens in certain cases, not all cases.
But why I bother debating with people who think the trauma to young men would be the same for heter and homo rape is beyond me. I am a man which is why I can discuss that side of the equation and I'm here to tell you that the guys I grew up would have told you , "you're nuts".
Yes, before gambling and prostitution government was a neutral commodity which people could turn to good or evil. With legalized gambling and prostitution it has crossed the line into a sinful commodity.

Silly FReeper. That's why perverts use the courts. Judges don't have to worry about stupid things like approval and support.
Shalom.
You can do better than that. Well actually, no you can't. In order to demonstrate a rational basis for disparate sentencing one need not demonstrate that the trauma is worse in all cases, just simply some. It then remains a state issue where it belongs.
Any man who claims that homosexual rape would not cause more trauma to the victim, in this case young men in puberty, than hetersexual rape is simply being a sophist.
This case was not rape. It was consensual sex between two people where one was below the age of consent and one was an adult who less than four years older than the younger teen. This is covered by a specific law in Kansas and is considered less severe than a much older person having sex with a 14-year-old.
The 14 year old was mentally challenged AND underage which means you can't get consent out of that and gate. But that's neither here nor there, the SCOTUS has no business in this case because there is an obvious rational basis for disparate sentencing.
Like the man said they chose sides in the culture wars and, so, here we are.
If you can't tell when someone is offering you a noose and calling it a necktie you should at least learn to tell when he's asking you to jump.
I think Clint made his point clearly. You may simply not want to see it, which is normal in a debate. But if you really can't see it go back and re-read the thread from the beginning.
Shalom.
Don't buy the lie. Homosexual sex destroys lives, or is the result of a destroyed life. I'm not going to bandy words like "sodomy" which some can twist to mean heterosexual oral sex. Homosexuals need help, not some mindless pablum about respecting their dignity. Of course we should respect their dignity. We respect the dignity of people with appendicitis too, but we get them to a hospital, not grant them the right to have appendicitis in the privacy of their own home if they want to.
Shalom.
