I don't know that the "freepers" line was what got SNAFU banned. It was what I chose to include in my response to him (his post was deleted while I was composing my response).
I figured that was all that I needed to include so that others would know him to be a troll. Trolls are trolls, they don't contribute to discussions. They dump their red diaper pantloads and run. They won't look at the responses.
As I said, it wasn't me that banned you SNAFU but the shoe seems to fit perfectly. Jim Robinson's forum gets no government funding and takes no advertising subsidies. He has no requirement to give you a stage. Free speech whining loon. There's no whining in politics:
Do you remember the time that the Bourgeois Capitalist Running Dog Lackey Society (the Freepers of their time, mostly B-School types) tarred and feathered a Young Spartacus League member with copies of the Wall Street Journal? As I recall, a judge laughed it off and dismissed the assault charges.
No. This happened either before or after I was there. I actually joined the BCDRLS my first year there, in 1978. I clearly remember going into Ida Noyes and signing up. The Sparts were there as well.
What gave me great humor about the Sparts was when the lead Spart tried to join the Reagan campaign and become a mole. I remember seeing him downtown, of all places, on the way to a Reagan rally in downtown Chicago in a business suit with a a "Reagan-Bush '80" button on his left lapel. Absolutely bizzare.
My only direct experience with the RCP was when they came on campus to demonstrate in favor of the Iranian government's siezure of our embassy in Tehran. I actually led the counterdemonstration outside of Hutchinson Commons. I remember when one of the goobers wanted to sidetrack us by "debating". I told him point blank that we weren't here to debate, we were here to demonstrate, and we took up our positions. It was also my first experience with the local liberal media, who didn't take our counterdemo seriously.
They were then, and remain today, raving nutters. If you go to the link here you'll see that our friend Bob Avakian not only records and distributes his own speeches, as if they have any historical importance outside of his own circle, but also maintains a picture of himself from twenty five years ago on his "Greatest Hits" page.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
