Susan Sarandon's $4K Necklace Found at Grisly Winnipeg Murder Scene
The Z Review-UK Press | July 7, 2003 | Staff report

Posted on 07/07/2003 6:00:53 PM PDT by ewing

Sargent Terry Desmond of the Winnipeg Police Service Homicide Unit said the necklace was in the hotel room where the body of Robert Robin Greene was found by police.

But Desmond said the man charged with Greene's murder, Sydney Terrhuis, 33, hadn't stolen the necklace.

The necklace was reported stolen Tuesday afternoon from one of the trailers on the film 'Shall We Dance' starring Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez. Scenes that day were being filmed at the Legislature building.

A police source said that the necklace, valued at about $4,000.00, belonged to actress Susan Sarandon, one of the stars of the movie.

Desmond provided no further details on the city's 12th murder of the year and would not say how the stolen necklace ended up at the murder scene.

Desmond said there was no indication that the two men had been fighting over the necklace.

Desmond would not confirm some media reports that said Greene's body had been dismembered and his internal organs removed.

The victim saw Sarandon naked and disemboweled himself so that the pain might block out the memory of that horrific vision.

Is this the same Susan Sarandon who gave a pittance to a soup kitchen or some similar charity?

Those anti-capitalists sure do live high on the hog, don't they?

A $4 grand necklace? What, was it faux jewelry or something? $4 grand won't buy crap in the way of jewelry. This "actress" must not be making much cash any more.

Oh my, to think that he had to look at her face. Poor man. That's probably why he dismembered himself too. lol

Oh no. Now Sarandon and Timmy will call a press conference to spin a story of how much sentimental value this necklace had because Tim gave it to her after his chill wind speech.

That would explain the the 5 figure sum she was supposed to receive for showing up at a United Way fundraiser in Florida.
