NEW YORK - MSNBC on Monday fired Michael Savage for anti-gay comments.
The popular radio talk show host who did a weekend TV show for the cable channel referred to an unidentified caller to his show Saturday as a "sodomite" and said he should "get AIDS and die."

Good point! Some "protected" groups are more equal than others, huh?
Actually not a good point at all; lef-winger Bill Mahr was canned from "Politically Incorrect" for a comment that was not only not offensive, it was true. Much more inoccuous than what Mahr said.
People were looking for someone to take their frustrations out on at the time, of course.

Err, meant to say "much more innocuous than what Savage said."

Indeed, he was way over the line on the public airwaves. Such conduct is intolerable.

I agree. It would have been resolved by now, had both parties wanted it resolved.
I've always found Michael Savage abrasive, but nevertheless entertaining. He's provocative to say the least, which is a good thing. He can also be rude, which is a bad thing. He also seems to take a lot of unplanned days off. I suspect these are "sanity breaks" where Michael Savage has to take a break from being Michael Savage, if you know what I mean.

Sorry, doll, I don't "have to turn him off", I don't find anything he says, or his delivery, "odious".
I find it smart, angry, and straight to the point. Brutal honesty. Sorry people like you confuse that with "odious".

The left has it in a strangle hold, and it's headed down the sewer.
Any other questions?

Grow up.

Savage says it like it is. You can take it or leave it. MSNBC wanted to leave it. Someone will pick him up.

Good riddance. Yes indeed I imagine sodomites everywhere celebrating, which is a really disgusting thought since I witnessed such a celebration in person once.

Now that Savage is gone, does this mean MSNBC will bring back Phil Donahue.

What qualifies someone as a "madman" in your world? Talking loudly in "angry" tones?
I swear to God, half you people claiming to hate Savage scare me if you're telling people you're conservative. This is ridiculous. "He's so m-eeeeee-aaaaaaa-nnnn!".
You people who claim to hate Savage need to give up watching the Barney tapes with your kids.

"sodomite" and said he should "get AIDS and die."
In time ... .
Wish the left was consistent when liberals acted up like this. I'd say the guy has First Amendment rights being trashed. Even the KKK gets to demonstrate and talk in a similar manner. I don't endorse either one but surely someone should be able to easily put these folks in their place.

No, I think it is you who should grow up. Wishing harm upon another human being is a pretty cruel thing to do. Are you defending his words?

Savage is a jackass and now he reaps the wages of a jackass. As far as anyone complaining that MSNBC is unfairly attacking him because he's a conservative, consider that he had a show in the first place (and he managed to blow it).

Have to wonder if NBC was afraid that the ratings might increase after such an outburst. Certainly the low ratings that Donawho drew shows that MSNBC wasn't afraid that the ratings would drop to 0.
