They tried to tell me it took so long because of the new influx of applicants after 9/11. To try to tell them I was already in the system, was like explaining free market enterprise to my 4 month old niece. Oh, and a lot of the time, the officer in charge of Firearms ID processing, always seemed to be going on vacation. They got a little upset when I asked if there was any other officer qualified to perform that duty. Yes, we are at their mercy. Are you sure about the 30 day law?

I know that one for a fact. It is a widely ignored law. They probably giggle about how long it is taking you for that change. It took me five months to get my original ID. They assigned the background check grunt work to one of the busiest detectives in the dept. (He must of pissed someone off).
