Hmmm...I sorta see it, but not entirely.

Unlike you I didn't drive to 2 stores, I called 3 stores before I reached an English speaking clerk!
The clerk in the first store spoke such a slaughtered Asain-English that she was impossible to understand.
The second store spoke a likewise slaughted English but this time heavily accented in Arabic, again impossible to understand because he could not understand ME.
The third store? Well, it beats me --- I'm cannot even venture a guess at the origin of his language!
The fourth store "had no idea" --- hadn't heard about the RWR Beanie-Baby!
Diversity and immigration are alive and running rampant in San Diego. Odd that I didn't come across a Spanish-speaking clerk. At least I could have somewhat conversed with him/her!
Please let me know in a FReep maill if you're successful, and hopefully you'll find one at a store with an outlet in San Diego, like Toys-R-Us, so I can hurry to my outlet to buy some! I really want at least four of them!
