H.L. Mencken's aphorism about Republicans applies now to the left. He maintained that a Republican was scared that "someone, somewhere, might be having a good time".
Folks, we are the Guns and Good Times Party.

"Folks, we are the Guns and Good Times Party."Good booze, good cigars, great cars, fantastic women, fast aircraft, guns, fireworks, competitive sports, loud parties, and private land.
In short, what we have and do is what the Left wants to ban or demonize or make everyone fear the trial lawyers and police about.

Mencken was a miserable old wretch. Hardly worth quoting. If you believe that your chief purpose in life is "good times," that's fine. However, I hardly see the long term significance of such a lifestyle. Conservatives used to be known as those who have sought to preserve all that is best in our culture. Perhaps that is undergoing some redefiniton.
