Sex, rape & slaves inserted in sick holiday menu

Outbound travel has been hit hard this year by such factors as the war on Iraq and the SARS outbreak, but plenty of Japanese have headed overseas on underground tours involving sex, slavery and savagery, according to Tokusatsu Shinsengumi.

Japanese used to their peaceful lives in their sheltered archipelago would be horrified to learn what goes on in developing countries.

Many overseas travelers are on the lookout for something new and, in poorer parts of the world, they're likely to find locals willing to supply them with illegal options to their tours provided the price is right.

Take Indonesia, the magazine suggests as an example.

Considerable criticism was leveled at Japanese men taking sex tours several years ago, but instead of declining in the wake of the furor, the number of such travelers is apparently on the rise.

A crackdown on schoolgirl prostitution in Japan has created strong demand among Rising Suns for underage prostitutes in other countries.

"Indonesia's government shut down Jakarta's brothels, which led to an increase in the number of women working the streets. You've got jobless women down to even little homeless children prostituting themselves," a journalist well versed in Asian prostitution tells Tokusatsu Shinsengumi. "The greatest reason is undoubtedly the country's poverty."

For Japanese men sick of plying professionals, there are always the rape brokers of Vietnam - touts who'll apparently drag a woman off the streets so a Japanese man can violate her.

"I was walking alone through a market when this guy about 40 came up to me and, in broken Japanese, started saying, 'woman, woman.' I thought he was talking about prostitutes, so I told him I didn't need him, but he wouldn't go away. He turned to me and told me I could rape her. I asked him for more details and he said he'd kidnap any girl I pointed out and let me rape her," a 32-year-old man who traveled to Vietnam last year tells Tokusatsu Shinsengumi. "I was terrified. I ran away from him as soon as I could."

In Ecuador, Japanese can, according to the men's weekly, hunt for children in a different manner as they are armed with a rifle and permitted to track down a youth let loose in the jungle. About 10 Japanese have so far taken part in the tours, with only three getting a shot off at their target and no fatalities reported.

Japanese are tapping into the underground in European countries, too. Belarus attracts a monthly gathering of people from all over the world for its sickening slave auctions.

"I'm what you'd call a broker. My job is to buy people (in Belarus) and sell them all over the world. Buyers are the types you'd expect, doctors, politicians and the like. Belarus has its underground slavery companies. They have a monthly auction in poor villages. Young men, women, children and even the middle-aged are auctioned off," an unnamed man tells Tokusatsu Shinsengumi. "Belarussian women are beautiful, so they sell for a high price. Higher than you'd imagine. Basically, the younger they are, the better price they command. Let's face it, they can be enjoyed for longer, right?

"You'd be surprised how few of them are worried about being sold. Some of the women say they'd rather be a slave in a rich person's home than stay on in the poverty of their village. I've imported five Belarussian women into Japan."

Africa, a continent ravaged for centuries by slavery, continues to be blighted by the most evil of trades even today.

"Customers are looking for something different these days, right? Eastern Europeans or South Americans just aren't good enough any more. So, I decided to get myself some black women. A coordinator I know told me about the slave auctions in Africa and asked if I was interested in taking part. The coordinator's job is to bring foreign women to Japan. He said he was going to the auction again. I thought it looked interesting, so decided to tag along with him," the operator of an Osaka bordello tells Tokusatsu Shinsengumi. "It was held in Kenya. They brought out over a dozen young men and women and lined 'em all up in front of us like they were products. I asked who they were and was told they were all people badly in debt. Just looking at what was going on, I couldn't possibly buy anybody. I came home empty handed, but I've heard of sex businesses in Japan that use slaves. If they ever got picked up, there'd be an almighty uproar."

unbelievable.

Exactly. This "story" brings out my old journalist's cynicism -- especially after reading the disclaimer at the end of the piece which won't vouch for its accuracy. The newsroom motto used to be: "Don't trust what anybody tells you, including your Mother. Check everything out."

Some of this stuff may really be happening. Slavery is certainly an ongoing business in many parts of the world and it needs a lot more attention than it's getting. And it's no secret that Japanese sexual mores are plenty kinky with a seriously unhealthy focus on rape and violence. But this story is so loosely sourced and based on hearsay I have a problem accepting it as it stands.

"Have morals, common sense, decency, and self discipline completely disappeared from the world?"

From some parts, yes; other parts are fighting a seemingly-losing cause. Even we're under heavy attack from libs and fifth column filth.

They don't consider that a pistol and good instructor, will help them a lot more than any "self defense kickboxing class" than they sign up for.

The problem is that you generally need to be 18 or 21 to qualify for a CCW. This is why I had my 14-yo daughter trained in knife fighting and made sure she carries one wherever she goes. A bad guy generally will not expect a suburban teen girl to be armed

"This is why I had my 14-yo daughter trained in knife fighting"

Yeah, I had a couple of my buddies drop by the house when they came home on block leave from their SOCOM assignment at MacDill AFB. They showed my daughter a few of the nastiest down and dirty street KILLING techniques I've ever seen. She was about 14 then as well. I'm not talking martial arts here... This was stuff she could learn once, never practice it and will work the first time she really commits to a strike. We made sure she understood just what she was doing and what were the consequences to her attacker, lest she use them and not be really needing them. She still thanks those guys, and me for those lessons.

"Japanese culture can be very strange and very, very sick. They only outlawed child pornography about five years ago. Before then, it was perfectly legal. Men would read it on the subways..."

Let's not forget that rape itself has only been outlawed in Japan for about twenty years. When Japanese women first went into the workplace it was common to suffer rape at the hands of employers and coworkers. Also, there is still a comicbook character over there called "RAPEMAN" can you guess what his superpowers consist of?

In all my travels, I have never met a more racist group than the Japanese. They are certainly not our friends.
While in College I was nearly attacked by a large group of Japanese exhange students (men). I was on my second date with a beautiful Japanese woman (also an exchange student), and they did not like it at all. I had just dropped her off at the dorm when they poured out of the building. Needless to say this Native Texan had the situation under control...especially when my Colt Combat Commander made its presence known.

Japanese men have been going on sex tours for at least 30 years and let's not forget that they produce the nastiest porn in the world and let's also not forget that they love (and not in a good way) young girls.

Pearl Harbor. They may think we have forgiven them, but we should never forget.

There is currently a movement by the Japanese to rid themselves of our presence. They are also still involved in industrial espionage. I believe the CIA came out with another report of this in 2001.

"They" have many factions: Including Communists, who really DO hate us. There are also some right wing extremists. However, we have some true friends among the Japanese. Try not to lump them all together. There are serious divisions among the Japanese -- even as there are among Americans. Guess what: EVERYONE is involved in industrial espionage (including us).

Sounds like "all your travels" are somewhat limited. You have a very provincial view of the Japanese. How many years have you lived in Japan? While I am not disputing the ugly things you report, I will say that these things do not characterize all Japanese, any more than a gangsta rappers characterize all Americans.

I do not hate the Japanese, as some of the posters here do. Some Japanese are lovely people. However, I will say that the lack of a Christian heritage obviously has its ugly side.

If the ACLU has its way (and it seems to be having it in our courts), they will turn America into a moral wasteland like Japan.

During this Independence Day Holiday, thank God for the benefits we all enjoy as a result of our Christian Heritage -- and then ask His forgiveness for NOT having heeded General MacArthur's plea at war's end that we send some 50,000 missionaries to that country.

At war's end, Christian missionaries were welcomed inside Japanese public schools to hand out Bibles and the like. Such open doors to their schools have been closed to Christian missionaries for many years now.

It may be unfair to you that I lump them all together, but my "limited experience" is all I have to go on. I'll concede for now, since you probably lived there. (Masawa maybe..)

I've never met a gangster rapper, but from what I've seen of them they are hardly a threat to my person. They look like a buncha wanta be killaz (in my best ebonics) out to make a buck.

I have met many Japanese. Many of them were the sons or daughters of the business elite of Japan. I believe with all my heart that their attitude was learned directly from their parents.

Thank God these people are not in the majority.

Yeah, but you know that if this was an Arabic daily FReepers would be waxing apocalyptic about the perversity of the majority of people in the Islamic world.

Okay. Honest post. (And good guessing: yes, Misawa.)

You are correct: Many of the rich young Japanese today are unbearable pr*cks. However, there are, in the seams of the Japanese culture, some wonderful people. Perhaps they are not the ruling elite, but they are some of the best people you will ever meet.)
