The men who engage in polygamy do so, mainly not for "religious" reasons, but for far lesser ones. No member of the Latter Day Saints in good standing would consider it. The only person I know personally who grew up in such a household felt it did not benefit him, as a child.

The only person I know personally who grew up in [a polygamous] household felt it did not benefit him, as a child.I strongly suspect that in coming years children reared by gay couples will uniformly denounce their "parents'" choice of family relationship as well.
There is a deeper wisdom inherent in the monogamous male-female traditional family unit than is understood or even acknowledged by the so-called progressives (liberal and libertarian) among us.

The only person I know personally who grew up in such a household felt it did not benefit him, as a child. If that person was familiar with the LDS wrtings, he would have KNOWN that it was for GODS glory; not necessarily his!
THE DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS
SECTION 132
6 And as pertaining to the new and everlasting covenant, it was instituted for the fulness of my glory; and he that receiveth a fulness thereof must and shall abide the law, or he shall be damned, saith the Lord God.
