Not a very good sign if God burns down your church is it?

"A member of the First Baptist Church said a guest evangelist was preaching repentance and seeking a sign from God when lightning struck the steeple.
Ronnie Cheney called the incident "awesome, just awesome!"
Cheney said the lightning traveled through the microphone, blew out the sound system and enveloped the preacher, who wasn't hurt. "
Too funny. Note that the precaher was speaking on repentance. Perhaps he needed a reminder from God that he was still holding back a bit?

"Afterward, services resumed for 20 minutes more until the congregation realized the church was on fire".
Now here's a minister who REALLY preaches fire and brimstone!

Why excerpt when you don't have to? It just makes more work for us.

Ask and ye shall receive . . .
Says he wasn't hurt, and apparently he was so on fire for the Gospel that nobody noticed for about 20 minutes that the church was on fire too . . . :-D
"Preach it, brother!"
(I love Billy Sunday. Anybody who can sling a baseball AND the Gospel is OK in my book.)

Talk about life imitating art - this was in a Simpson's episode, IIRC.

Sure it wasn't the First Baptist Bar and Grill? :-)

A guy I used to work with as a cop was out hiking with his wife when a thunderstorm came up. She suggested they quit the hike and he said "if God Wants Me, give it your best shot".
Yes they did receive a hit from above, her nylons melted little cross shapes onto her legs, and his sheath knive burned a cross on his butt. Don't think he ever made a comment like that again.

Stamp out unnecessary excerpting now. :-)
I mean, how serious can they be about that "may not be published or redistributed" when they also provide a link to
print the article? ;O)

Here's the problem with most of the preachers & Christians today. They are seeking/chasing signs and wonders when signs and wonders should be following them.
To: Normal4me
Not a very good sign if God burns down your church is it?It depends. If our church burned down, and we were able to build a better one, we'd consider it a very good sign.

(Just my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary. You have the right to be wrong.)
