The Bush administration and the U.S. intelligence community have had some success in finding Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction, Sen. Pat Roberts said Thursday.
Roberts, chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, told reporters on a telephone conference call that he couldn't go into detail because the news is classified.
``It's classified information now _ I am urging the administration and the intelligence community to make at least portions of that public,'' Roberts said. ``We've had some success; I'm sorry I can't go into detail about that.''
Roberts, R-Kan., traveled this week to Iraq and the Middle East with members of the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Prime Minister Tony Blair last night insisted he had secret proof that weapons of mass destruction will be found in Iraq in his strongest signal yet that coalition forces believe they may have begun to uncover leads to Iraq's alleged deadly arms cache.
Stung by claims that the Government exaggerated the threat from Saddam, Blair said he was waiting to publish a 'complete picture' of both intelligence gained before the war and 'what we've actually found'.
Asked if he knew things he could not yet reveal, he said: 'I certainly do know some of the stuff that has been already accumulated as a result of interviews and others... which is not yet public, but what we are going to do is assemble that evidence and present it properly.'
His words, in an interview with Sky TV, came as Downing Street moved to halt damaging leaks over its handling of the evidence by heaping praise on the intelligence services. 'The Prime Minister hugely values the work of the intelligence agencies,' his spokesman said in St Petersburg, where heads of state were celebrating the Russian city's tercententary, yesterday.
I remember reading an article that was talking about Condi Rice, the NSA and Iran. The main point was that Blair went along with us about Iraq, because of Iran, that Iran was the key front in the War on Terror. I cannot remember all of the specifics, except that I always believe that Bush and Blair are working from the same page. And, if the WMD evidence didn't truly exist, they would readily release the meager information that they do have, to save themselves politically. Since they keep cautioning the public to wait, and the added fact that Blair said the information will be released all at once, it makes me believe that they are gathering a massive amount of information that will be extremely difficult to refute.
You apparently forgot to use the proper HTML coding to make that appear properly.

The news will break when the Administration says it should break.
Again with the name calling. This is so sad. Hey I love Bush too, I'll indeed be patient in waiting for them to turn up, but I'm not going to write what simply appears as fan fiction or believe someone else's "insider" fan fiction just because it can be shown to be plausable.
If you can't accept my choice to wait for the weapons to turn up before I believe they have them-perhaps it is you who needs to "grow up" VRWC_minion.

Unless someone points out to you that your logic is the simple logic of a child, how can you learn ? The fact that you refuse to see that I have never called you a name, that I have only pointed out the flaws in your logic is the same kind of problem you are having listening to arguments when you have already rationalized that you are right and therefore reject any proof that you are wrong.
Hey I love Bush too,
I don't love Bush. However, your feeling about him or my feelings about him don't have anything to do with evaluating whether it makes sense to withhold information about an ongoing investigation. Instead, your belief that loving Bush is relevant to the logic of withholding information is another example of childish logic at work.
I'll indeed be patient in waiting for them to turn up, but I'm not going to write what simply appears as fan fiction or believe someone else's "insider" fan fiction just because it can be shown to be plausable.
That wasn't your original query. You asked "What is the logic in purposefully letting this drag out so long, I don't see it.". You wanted a logical reason for "taking so long" (geez some investigations last years), and that the logical reason is there is an investigation taking place and its considered bad form to release information that is being gathered while an investigation takes place.
You may want to deny that its a good reason, although you would be making a case that flys in face of reason, you cannot deny that it is in fact a logical reason. Your continued denial that it is a logical reason is still another example of childish logic. FWIW, even logical reasons may not be true.
If you can't accept my choice to wait for the weapons to turn up before I believe they have them-perhaps it is you who needs to "grow up" VRWC_minion.
First, I never told you you need to grow up. I said your logic is childish. I have no problem with your desire to wait for proof. What I did call you on was your denial that there is no logical reason for it taking so long to release information when in fact there are a number of logical reasons for keeping the information classified. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
