The news will break when the Administration says it should break. The cat has swallowed the canary.

Lies. Lies. Lies. Saddam had no WMD. The liberals say he didn't. The socialist democrats have bashed the administration, made it up they say. It is lies, conservative, made-up lies by the administration and CIA to protect themselves from prosecution by the liberals!

Administration in this context means Karl Rove. Hee hee. And I'm perfectly glad about that.

I imagine the Democrats will be keeping very quiet about this subject for the next few days, seeing what (if anything) develops. :-)

Chairman of Senate Intelligence Committee: News will break on Saddam's weapons program Thu Jul 03 2003 11:56:01 ET The Bush administration and the U.S. intelligence community have had some success in finding Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction, Sen. Pat Roberts said Thursday. Roberts, chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, told reporters on a telephone conference call that he couldn't go into detail because the news is classified. ``It's classified information now _ I am urging the administration and the intelligence community to make at least portions of that public,'' Roberts said. ``We've had some success; I'm sorry I can't go into detail about that.'' Roberts, R-Kan., traveled this week to Iraq and the Middle East with members of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Developing... I'm sure we'll soon be hearing from Carl (Karl Marx) Levin from my Michigan who will say "I've looked at the so called evidence and there is nothing there, and it is very troubling". Daschle will reject evidence before seeing it. NYT will interview several "top" weapons experts who will systematically deconstruct any fact presented. So tired of this but that's what I expect.

They reportedly found a large cache of CD's containing Barbara Streisand and Barney Frank dueting on a version of "Islands in the Stream". Tom "Count Chocula" Lantos is singing backup.

If the DemocRATS say it isn't true, then it's not. You're right. If anybody knows what a lie is, it's the Democrats.

I hope the administration doesn't do something rash and declassify some vital national security info just to appease a handful of nutjobs on the left.

I hope the administration doesn't do something rash and declassify some vital national security info just to appease a handful of nutjobs on the left. They won't be declassifying anything. That takes time. They'll simply sanitize the information (hopefully thoroughly) and reveal the juicy news (if any) without revealing the source(s). That's my expectation, anyway.

If you put out the news that you've uncovered 30 tons of nerve gas at Location Z and 15 nuclear bimbs at Location Y BEFORE you've had a chance to TOTALLY secure the weapons, you've just issued an open invitation to that tiny minority of thugs in Iraq behaving badly to behave REALLY badly.
I personally think that a LOT of Sad Man's chem/bio weapons were trucked to Syria/Lebanon prior to the war and are probably buried in Lebanon. But they couldn't move all of it, and when we DO find it, we are going to have to move it, secure it and then publicly destroy it. None of that can happen within the time span of a typical American Idol commercial break (which is what the Media wants).
There WILL be a lag from the time we find them and the time we announce the discovery. And part of the delay is to allow Bush's critics to reach a peak of latherness. Timing is everything.

I can hear you both here and there.
I guess the US military finally decided to plant the WMDs in Iraq after finding nothing in their exhaustive search, and I'm sure some of those imprisoned Iraqi officers would lie about WMDs in order to get a good deal from US military tribunals
