Yesterday America lost one of our best and most treasured actors, Ms. Katharine Hepburn. Ms. Hepburn died at 96 in her home in Connecticut surrounded by friends and family.

Throughout her career which spanned over 6 decades, Katharine Hepburn was nominated for 12 Academy Awards and won 4 for her roles in Morning Glory (1933), Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967), The Lion in Winter (1968) and On Golden Pond (1981).

Fiercely independent, she bucked the Hollywood studio system when they wanted to place her in a film she found wholly undesirable. She bought out her contract with RKO, went back East and starred in a play, The Philadelphia Story that was written with her in mind. Ms. Hepburn loved it so much and her role in it, she insisted that she be able to buy the film rights as a condition to appear in the play. After a smash run on Broadway, she brought the script to MGM. Owning the rights afforded her the ability to cast the movie with her picks, Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart. The film was nominated for six Oscars in 1940 and won for Best Actor, Jimmy Stewart and Best Screenplay, Donald Ogden Stewart.

Today Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracey are together again.

Where do you think Spencer's wife is?

And, has anyone noticed that not a SINGLE tribute to the late Ms. Hepburn admitted she starred with John Wayne?

It's as if The Duke is being put down the Memory Hole.

Ms. Hepburn was a Leftist. Can't have that association, can we?

actually, you are wrong. hepburns' parents were quite leftise and burned her out on political activities. soooo, while she wasn't liberal, she also wasn't conservative. any political activities she engaged and off hand I can't recall any, were nominal involvements with no adherence to the agenda. nhaving said that........

you were also wrong in saying that john wayne appearrance with was not mentioned in the media. several outlets commented on the breadth of her acting roles and leading men, mentioning wayn in particular.

you know, i surf the net between the liberals and the conservatives quitie a bit. there is a lot of whining and bitching and grumbling from both camps. i don't want conservatives to be as whiney as the liberals but unfortunately, you seem to be.

On Sunday, Larry King rebroadcasted a recent interview with Hepburn's niece, Katherine Houghton. King asked Houghton about Hepburn's politics. Houghton replied that her aunt hated politics. King then asked if Hepburn ever endorsed a presidential candidate and Houghton gave a flat out "no."

Madam (and I assume, here), you falsely accuse me. Where in my statement was a whine?

Please name two media outlets which mentioned Hepburn's association with John Wayne. Neither AP nor Reuters did, and most of the media, FNC included, quote them substantially.

And you're wrong as well. Kate was a feminist. That alone speaks volumes.

I guess you're just another cyber-Libertarian who hates veterans...
