We had some beautiful weather this weekend here in Northwest Connecticut and had the chance to see fellow freepers in action with the US Flag Balloon... Quite a site!
I have put together some images from the fair, and made a desktop of the US Flag Balloon in flight... Perfect for making your desktop ready for the upcoming fourth of July Weekend!

I tried to get Raoul to hop in the basket, I did... . . . . Race can go when his shoulder is better. I'm still putting pics on the website. I should have more later today.

I brought my family up on Friday afternoon, but a small front moving through caused the wind to pick up so there were no launches. We had a nice time though, and our little one went on some of the carnival rides. My wife really wanted to see the balloons, however, and suggested we come back up for the 6:00 AM launch on Saturday. SO, we all got up at 3:45, drove up from Norwalk with the kids in their pj's, and saw twenty or so ballons take off in the early morn.
While there, I got some FReeper action photos which I've placed up on Webshots at this address:

I'm not certain, but you may have to be a member of webshots to see them. If you've got a better way of posting them, I'll pass them along.

It was a great weekend except for Friday...
The past few balloon fests haven't been quite as good as this one was. I live about 2 miles from the fairgrounds, always a nice view of the balloons from all around the area.
I will be adding more shots of other balloons throughout the week... I took about 300 this weekend ;)

Nice area you live in. I don't think I'd been to Goshen in twenty or more years - hasn't changed much!

We got some press on Sunday morning with the flag. Channel 3.

I didn't get any photos on Sunday morning as I was attending to looking at the back of my eyelids but it probably looked something like the above photo...

Actually, I think that was a FReeper pic. If he would like to come forward...

I put that pic up Saturday night on Wunderground.com, I have numerous pictures from the area on there, it is a great website. The american flag balloon has been the most popular by far :)

Thanks for driving over twice -- glad you and your family could attend and thanks for the excellent pictures.
Unfortunately, it was too windy Saturday AM to stand up either America One or Patriot -- but Saturday evening was ideal, and we were delighted that we got both balloons up.
We had a great time in Goshen -- I can certainly understand why people like the area -- it is beautiful! We had a great time.
