Turn Your RNC Donation Letter into a Demand to Allow the AW Ban to Expire (ctext)

With the 04 elections right around the corner, I'm sure many of us are receiving donation letters from the Republican National Committee, asking us for our hard-earned money in order to stave off the Democrat onslaught.

This is all fine & good, except for one thing... with Pres. Bush's stance on the AW ban, and without any real assurances from Republican lawmakers that the ban will be allowed to wither away & die, I'm not really in the giving mood!

Thus, when I received a letter in today's mail from the RNC's Treasurer Mike Retzer, I decided to enclose a friendly little note, rather than the check that I usually stuff into the postage paid envelope that they send...

quote: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Mr. Retzer,

I am enclosing this note to inform you that I will not be donating anymore money to President Bush’s, or any other Republican’s election fund until America’s gun owners receive a public assurance that the so called "Assault Weapons" ban will be allowed to expire without renewal or replacement come September of 2004.

The Republican Party currently controls the White House, Senate, and House of Representatives, in large part, due to the support and efforts of the gun owning public. Any reauthorization of the blatantly unconstitutional "Assault Weapons" ban by Republican lawmakers will be viewed as a betrayal of our God given rights, and as a selling out of the Republican Party’s ideals and core constituency.

As a life long Republican and former financial contributor to the RNC, I sincerely hope that President Bush reconsiders his support of a renewed "Assault Weapons" ban. I also ask that all Republican lawmakers be put on notice that how they handle this matter will greatly effect the future voting and donating habits of many Americans who have, heretofore, considered themselves loyal Republicans.

Yours truly,

LOL.........Report my "bowing up" post to the moderator!

Never had a reason to do that and still don't.

Just pointing out your disagreeable nature.

You remind me of SneakyPete.

It can be milled, threaded and formed to any size and shape.

It cannot withstand 50,000psi of explosive force. A plastic gun is beyond our current technology.

Period.

What does "shall not be abridged" mean to you?

It does not say what kind of arms. The courts have been quite clear on that.

That is why we do not have Howitzers in the driveway.

Just pointing out your disagreeable nature.

Simply because you are wrong does not make me disagreeable.

I become disagreeable if one tries to hurt my family or take away my rights.

I have a gun and a shovel, and know how to use both of them.

"I do not think the 50 cal arguement is getting much public support as of yet."

It got support in California, the land from whence anti-gunners crawl out like maggots from a three day old dead dog.

The reason the .50 caliber ban hasn't taken off is because most of America doesn't even know what a .50 caliber weapon looks like, but the anti-gunner maggots are working hard to demonize it.
If I could fault the NRA and other Second Amendment organizations for one thing, it would be their inability to get their message out to the American people.
They spend nearly all of our donated dollars in trying to influence legislation.
The anti-gunners take it to the populance.
This puts us in an unenviable position of having to stomp out brush fires as they occur.

If you have the cash and desire then you can have a Howitzer. They are not included in the so-called assault weapon ban.

Who are you shilling for?

LOL! I get that all the time!

I said what I said because to chose to read the 2nd literally. So did I, and I do not work for Howitzer.

The problem with these gun threads is that the advocates rarely accept someones position if it does not include the premise that are gun laws are unconstitutional.

As to the reason I decided to post on this thread, I felt that to put Bush in a totally indefensible position on the sunset issue is stupid at this particular time and place.

That's about it! Rolling to Lowe's for my stuff now.

I expect it to be renewed, possibly with some amendments. They will be lucky to keep handguns out of it.

Then I expect Bush II will enjoy the same chances for reelection that Bush I did. And the second novel from Uninjtended Consequences author John Ross should be out a few months before the election, so I'd expect that Texas senator Phil Graham's 1996 prediction that Americans would soon be hunting Democrats with dogs will likely come true.

But it won't just be Democrats.

How about a bill outlawing certain words, would you support it? Registration of computers, typewriters, limits on letters to the editor? What if the "outlawed words" list could me amended by the attorney-general? Outlawed treet demonstrations? Where will the "semi-auto" bill stop? Thought about President Hillary and attorney general Bill??

PS I don't own any guns on the list but I can see the ulterior motive. Eventual confiscation!

The weapons that would be useful to resisters will be confiscated/outlawed first.

Yeah, like overhauling the Dept. of Ed. Oops.
And stopping the Invation of our southern borders...Oops
Or Fighting the Unconstitutional CFR bills. OOps.
OR Dealing with the Steel imports. Oops.
Or Fighting a massive 400 billion dollar Social Spending spree. Oops

Got some real bad news for you WS, Bubba Lite is doing everything he can at this point to completely alienate his Base Political strength. He signs the AWB and he will not be re-elected. FAct is Democrats will Always vote Democrat. It is his conservative base he is screwing with social pandering. Papa Bush found out what that does to your re-election chances.

The Bastard lost my vote this week with his wholesale selling out of my kids financal future by sticking them with a "new, biggest social program since 1965" according to the Giddy Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.

I too sent the RNC cash plea literature back, with a clear message to the RINO In Charge. Either denounce this BS or look forward to retirement in 04.

Atleast when we had a split government we weren't getting this kind of Crap shoved down our throats by our supposed own Party.

“To summarize, I feel this battle, at this time to be a fools errand and would not think of asking Bush to allow the sunset for a variety of reasons"

Nope, now is the time to be most vigilant, not only to our President (yes, I voted for him) Bush, but every politician that represents you including your local
city/county/state and federal representatives.

Everyone keep sending your cards and letter’s. Keep the message easy to understand, Mess with the Sunset, and you will be gone. And, do it regularly from now until 2004.

."The most difficult obstacle is the fact that this is happening at a time when the FBI is rolling up terror cells in 40 states. The AK is their signature weapon of choice and you are advocating the legalization of the import and sale of said weapon."

Wrong… Explosives, especially the “human detonating” kind are. And, BTW you can get a brand spanking new AK (variant) any day you want, right now.

And, if you believe the Media/FBI… Well, nothing else need be said.

“How about a compromise with another devious sunset provision so that this can be looked at again when the weather cools off a bit?”

Not only NO, but HELL NO, no compromise at all, no matter what the weather is.

Howie,

They have already outlawed using the work "Forefathers" and "white" in text books.

"PS I don't own any guns on the list but I can see the ulterior motive. Eventual confiscation!"

First they will try registration. If you investigate the GCA of 68, you will find that it is based with a "Hitler Connection"

Gun Control's Nazi Connection!

Just a few weeks ago, I told a RNC caller that my future financial support was contingent upon the AW Ban's demise. The response was something along the lines of: "Yes, we've been hearing that..."

I would be opposed to adding guns that are not purely designed to kill two legged game, and they better not mess with currently legal handguns or some damn insurance pool that I heard someone advocate.

I will be all over their butts.

Yeah, I can see that you're a real pillar of strength on 2nd Amendment issues.

I don't have any money to donate--

Because in order to get re-elected George Bush and Bill Frist came and took one of my checks and wrote it out to give drugs to seniors so they could get re-elected. So I already gave.
