She did not deserve a life sentence. No priors and her crime was not the same as, for example, what the abortion doctor killer did.

Stupid is as stupid does. Her own actions parlayed what probably would have been a three to twelve felony DUI into a thirty year minimum. Even tho she has no priors, I agree with the jury.

She heard him moaning, then left him crumbled up in the front seat of her car, his body distorted, apparently from broken limbs.

Actually, from what I understand, one of his legs was nearly amputated at the knee...he bled to death from that I believe.

Most of his body was on the passenger side of her car, inside and under the dashboard, except for his nearly cut off leg which was hanging outside the broken front windshield.

Sickening.

I believe it took between ten and twelve hours for Ted Kennedy to sober up and notify authorities about his accident and Mary Joe Kopeckne.

What a man...

And Mary Jo's body was promptly cremated - I guess we'll never know if she was pregnant, either...

She made a big mistake, but I don't think she is an evil person.

I don't know if she's evil, but I've heard reports that the way her secret came out was at a party, where she giggled, "I killed a white man." This sort of remark does not earn mercy points with me.

A drunk kennedy will never do the time, in Mass.

Chante Kennedy from Massachusetts might have fared much better.

I think she should have gotten more time. She left the guy to die in her garage and then dumped his body. That's a pretty sick thing to do.

While she's no David Westerfield, her behavior is just as macabre.

I think she's pretty heartless. She left him in her car to die. Doing the deed - hitting him - is one thing. She left him to die. That cinches it for me.

She did worse than just leave him to die. She took him to a place where he couldn't be found to be helped. Too bad she didn't get more time. I sure help she doesn't reproduce in prison.

What she did is horrible, but she is not a horrible person

It wasn't her fault, you know. How can you hold people responsible for their actions? Why, then everyone would have to think, and make decisions, and have a conscience, and..and..that's really hard!

a firing squad is too good for her...
