THIS JUST IN...
As sometimes happens with Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.), he let his mouth race ahead of his brain Wednesday night at a gathering of Young Democrats at the Washington nightspot Acropolis. After presidential candidate Howard Dean spoke, Kennedy delivered an impassioned peroration against President Bush's tax cut. We hear that Kennedy told the crowd: "I don't need Bush's tax cut. I have never worked a [bleeping] day in my life." With that he got the audience's attention -- the dropping-jaws kind.

"Sounds like he was drunk"
Exactly.

Even though Carter was not a very good President, he was and still is a man with very high character. Then please explain why he is best buddies with the likes of Fidek Castro and why Jimmy always manages to stick up for Dictators and slams the USA every chance he can.

Supposedly the way Rosemary turned out afterward wasn't what the family was expecting. Only thing is .. Joe never told the family, not even his wife what he planned to do.

BTW, being a Demo (or a Repub) back in those days was different from what it is now. I sure agree with that.
To: Bush2000
Heh heh heh, can't argue with that.

In those days birth control was primarily rhythm and rubbers.
Fear of possible family embarrassment and trying to control that possibility ahead of time certainly fits my perceptions of Papa Kennedy though.

I must examine my internal calibration: I suddenly find myself in agreement with a Kennedy....

Thanks for the additional comments. I wonder if they tied tubes back then? Joe always sounded like the Devil's spawn to me. In that day and age I am quite surprised that his mob activities didn't play in his son's elections. As it turns out, perhaps it should have what with the direct pipeline to Giancanna and all.

LOL, sit down. It WILL pass.

Really sad about Rosemary. Joe was despicable and it shows throughout his offspring.
You heard about Caroline throwing out John Jr.'s maid from his penthouse even though he said she could live there free until his death in his will?
This woman had also been the nanny to Caroline's children!
Heartless family.
But willing to take away everyone else's tax dollars.

The article was here on FR about the time that JFKJr was buried at sea. The survivors of dead WWII vets were bitterly complaining that the Kennedy clan had pushed ahead of their dead who HAD waited for very long periods of time for their burial at sea. I don't have time to find the article now, but trust me--I do remember it properly. It's here on the site somewhere. And it was outrageous.
I'm a Navy brat and no politician's playboy son had better ever try to push ahead of my Dad for military honors.
