THIS JUST IN...

• As sometimes happens with Rep. Patrick Kennedy (D-R.I.), he let his mouth race ahead of his brain Wednesday night at a gathering of Young Democrats at the Washington nightspot Acropolis. After presidential candidate Howard Dean spoke, Kennedy delivered an impassioned peroration against President Bush's tax cut. We hear that Kennedy told the crowd: "I don't need Bush's tax cut. I have never worked a [bleeping] day in my life." With that he got the audience's attention -- the dropping-jaws kind.

Thanks for the ping. Who is dumber Patches, who burned his brains on drugs, or Joe, who also burned his brains out on drugs, both of whom have an IQ on the level of my dog Joahanni, the dog is smarter, IMHO.

I would have included Michael, the child molester, but he has been judged by a Higher Power than me.

The present Governor of MA ran against him and got his head handed to him.

The present Governor of MA was an embarrassment to watch in his debates against Kennedy before that election; Kennedy -- through whatever miracle worked by his handlers -- actually looked good by comparison, painful though it is to admit.

P.S. My sister tells me Kennedy's staff is truly excellent at constituent services; she attributes much of his popularity to that.

Constituent services mean a great deal to people who are powerless and need help in a particular situation.

I have a friend up here, a guy who really doesn't know where he stands politically, who got help from Baldacci on a family matter and will now probably vote D forever.

I'll bet there are millions of such voter across the country.

Kennedy ran for Congress out of Tips old district in Charlestown, present 8th, the illeagal alien vote has always been as important as the Green. I think that McCormack ran against Kerry, spit, spit, after Brooke cashed in his chips.

No, it wasn't the "unfortunate word", sweetie - it was his arrogant, "I'm a Kennedy and I'm a Congressman, and I don't do (bleep)" attitude.

The Democratic party dies when JFK Jr., plane went down. So many, my sister included, held on to the party for him only.

'Course now she's part of the VRWC.

Forget the burying him as sea part - how about the entire fleet of emergency personnel unleashed to find the plane?

Think anybody would dive for your kid within an hour? Think again.

Rosemary? I can't remember her name.

Two stories:

One, she was slow and Joe had an operation done on her to try and make her better adjusted.

Two, (and backed up by psychology books that reference this era) she slept around and was getting a reputation, so he had her operated on a part of her brain that (they thought) controlled impulses.

I go with #2.

Read about JFK in "Dish" by Jeanette Walls. He started the war to save his political ass.

Did the jaws drop because he used "bleeping" or because he had never worked a day in his life?

Does anyone else think they are listening to the quibbly voice of Katherine Hepburn when they listen to Robert K.?

Jackie did better than that.

She had huge trusts set up, then "left" things for her kids to sell at Christies. Who knows what else she did.

This is why we don't need an inheritance tax. The ones who have the most money know how to hide it.
