I feel sorry for Dog and his family, too, but it kinda looks like Dog should have checked the laws of Mexico a little better, doesn't it?

I suppose others have brought this up, but Dog looks alot like that motorcycle ridin' bounty hunter in Raising Arizona!

Is something like this worth a diplomatic intervention by the State Dept? Seems like it might be.

It looks like convicted rapist, Andrew Luster, did just that.

It sure does.

Saw on Rita's show over the weekend and she spoke to Dog. He said Luster was making threats to Dog when they were riding in the same 'paddy wagon'.

It is a rotten situation and the one good thing is that the animal named Luster is behind bars. Not sure what our government could do for Dog, but hope they will try!

The Mexicans want the Bush government to come to them on bended knee. Bunch of corrupt small-timers. We should encourage a travel boycott of Mexico, until they adjust their attitude.

What a disgrace! Our own FBI couldn't even return a phone call and get the guy themselves, so Chapman beat them to it. What does it matter WHO captured the guy, the FBI, the Mexican police or Chapman? Is there still fallout from the Kiki Camerena incident some years ago?

Chapman should be set free ASAP!!!!!!!!!

the financial backers of the guys tagging along and filming should pony up the cash needed to spring em--sure, it'll wash its way through lawyers' hands as part of his 'defense' and 'appeal', but its all a matter of price down there

Prosecutors maintain that the dramatic capture of the Max Factor (search) cosmetics heir violated Mexican sovereignty. They say the Americans should have gone to police instead of trying to capture Luster themselves.

The Spanish to English translation was a bit inaccurate here. What the Prosecutors actually said was:

".. the YANKEE Dogs should have first paid off the police, judges, and especially us PROSECUTORS before rounding up the Gringo Luster. Luster had already paid his bribes...".

Americans are frequently confused on the finer points of Mexican law; common misunderstanding. Now it will cost Dog a whole lot more. He'll have to also pay off the Mexican President, their Foreign Ministry, and law enforcement. Foolish! Should have done the bribing before the arrest.
