Do as I say, not as I do...

Hey, man, he should have to wait in line like everyone else. If you make the laws a person ought to be able to abide by them and learn to leave for one's destination alittle sooner.

And then you're scandalized how so many people break the law.

Harkin and other government officals are NO RISK to airline passengers or the flights they are on. Same with Algore and Gov. Jeb Bush who were both put through tight security checks in the past. Most passengers are no threat and should breeze through security. To waste time on people like Harkin, Bush, and Gore is to divert scarce resources from security matters that are important. Airport security is a joke and overly burdensome on those who it shouldnt be. A 90 year old man in a wheelchair is not a threat, yet he is treated as though he is going to hijack the plane.

Maybe he was in a hurry to see what public sentiment was going to be over that Federal land give-away to the Muslim youth group camp.

The real problem in Washington, D.C. is that many of our elected officials haven't had to live the 'life of a common man' in decades. Welcome to reality Harkin.

'Let them eat cake'. . .
. . .besides, if he really felt bad and had an honest excuse and a good one; he could have offered his apologies to those in line; better yet; he could have arrived on time.
Typical, arrogant Demrat. . .nothing more.

You know this p***** me off!
When TSA screws up and doesn't have enough staff, has staff meetings that pull people off of the screening process and or the load is heavy because of alert status - people have been missing flights! That's just the way it is under yet another Federal Boondoggle that this idiot voted for.
It's government of the elite, for the elite! And to H*** with the rest of us peons that don't quite have the pull with the local TSA. On what grounds did he get to the head of the line? And this is a man of the people! Yea right.
I loathe Democrats!

Of course. Party members outrank the proletariat in the US as well as the once USSR. We should be thankful.

Lines are for little people.
To: Mean Daddy
Waiting in line is for the "little people" to do.

Harkin must have read Orwell's Animal Farm. He thinks that he is in the group of animals that are more equal than others.
To: Mean Daddy
"But at the same time," she said, "I think he was really concerned about disappointing people at three events."Then get your ass there on time like the rest of us.

Didn't the People's Republic of Iowa just reelect this twit?

They sure are risks to National Security though. Make them wait like everyone else.
To: Mean Daddy
Read about POS Harkin getting caught lying about serving in Vietnam in the book "Stolen Valor".
To: Mean Daddy
"Sen. Harkin really wanted to get to Des Moines and really didn't want to disappoint everybody," she said. What a guy. Always thinking of others. Soon we will hear that he skipped the line "...for the children."
