Infone Response to Carville Ad
6/24/2003 | Infone Customer Service

Posted on 06/24/2003 7:01:56 PM PDT by chasio649

Thank you for your feedback about Infone and our commercials involving Mr. Carville. We understand your concerns and appreciate your feedback and taking the time to write us.

We have several commercials planned which feature celebrities and non-celebrities. Today, we have a commercial which features Jesse Ventura, former governor of Minnesota in addition to James Carville. In addition, there are several other ads which feature non-celebrities ('Animal Control', 'Anniversary', and 'Wife's Birthday').

I have forwarded your feedback to our marketing teams. If you should require further information or have additional questions, please feel free to contact us at our web site (www.infone.com) or simply dial 1-888-411-1111.

Thank You,

Michael Coe

Response to my questioning of why they used such a controversial figure such as James Carville to promote their product. Is he a celebrity? I guess so...

Carville and Ventura are two high profile figures. I don't blame Infone for using them.

I can't believe you object to James Carville being in commercials. Tell me you're not that petty.

I heard the ad and decided that any company that pitches their product with a lying low-life like Carville is no company that I want to do business with. They were disconnected...

Carville's not a criminal; OJ lost a civil judgment.

Hey, I don't like Carville all that much, but pitching a fit because somebody uses him in a commercial is a waste of time and effort.

Nice to know that can post your thoughts / ideas here and not worry about being being called names. Nice job.

Seems to be a trend as of late, and I see it coming more from the "older" members.

You understand my question...right? They can have anyone they want to push their product...if it was my company...i wouldn't have Newt Gingrich or anyone that is loathed by a substantial part of the population..it just doesn't make sense. No..I am not comparing Carville to OJ...i guess some testy people "fire off" replies without thinking.

Do you think the folks at Lipton would agree?

There is nothing wrong with contacting a company for any reason you see fit. Ignore those who say otherwise.

Is "petty" a name?

Hey, you wanna call me a name, have at it, junior.

Do you have anything to say about the subject at hand, James Carville-in-an-ad, or are you the hall monitor tonight?

I wondered the same thing when I saw both the Ventura and Carville ads. I don't think that the company was unaware that both were controversial fellas so the company must think that there's some sort of method to what seems like madness.

If nothing else, it certainly got your attention, didn't it? LOL ;-)

Is James Carville dissing the president of the United States in his ads?

I too may be "petty" and "a pathetic piece of crap," but I would not let James Carville (whom I consider to be a pathetic piece of crap) in my front door. I don't watch any program he is on, and I would not buy a product he pitches.

For full context, if it's not too much trouble, in addition to the entire text of Infone's answer to your question, please post the entire text of your question to Infone.

No, and neither were the Dixie Chicks in their Lipton ads.
