Sounds right to me. Why doesn't it sound right?Over several million years one might expect sediment to have covered the tooth. Of course there may actually be some of the species still surviving that have not been caught. A ceolocanth (sp?) was caught a while back and scientists had determined it to be extinct for millions of years before one was caught by a fisherman.
