The downtown nightclub Home, with its sexed-up "bedroom" theme, is the sort of place where twenty-something women sporting bare midriffs and navel rings loll about on futons with older men in tight T-shirts.
It's not the sort of place where one expects to meet the governor of Virginia.
So our spy, a 26-year-old female journalist who asked that we not publish her name, was a tad surprised in the wee hours Sunday when she spotted 48-year-old Mark Warner coming out of the men's room in The Attic, the club's top-floor VIP

No, that's John Warner (Rino) Senator from Virginia.
This is Mark Warner (Dim) Governor of Virginia.

No. That's Senator John Warner, who this Warner lost to before he got elected Gov. This Warner is younger than that Warner (but then, who isn't), and made big dough in venture capital.

I wonder if this is another Tai Collins (is that her name?) incident brewing here? I'm thinking of that infamous "massage" that Chuck Robb received. Ol' Chuck turned himself into a pretzel trying to explain himself out of that one.

When you called John Warner a RINO, you were so right. But in 1978, he ran as a staunch, staunch conservative. By the time he was running virtually unopposed in 1984 he had "grown in office." Most people in VA, however, do NOT know that Senator Warner is "not conservative." He was unopposed in 2002 too.

I want to know who Marky was partying with. Could there be any nefarious characters involved, other than himself?
The Washington Times needs to follow up on this, we need a real newspaper involved.
Find one of the young ladies looking for 15 minutes of fame and some change.
What went on? Any drugs? Any lap dances, or more?

So our spy, a 26-year-old female journalist who asked that we not publish her name Am I missing something? If this is a legitimate news story, why wouldn't a "journalist" wish to be acknowledged as the source? I know Grove is a gossip guy, but I think this a little lame for a journo looking to dish it out but not take it. I mean, she was there, right?

You're right about that. His impeachment votes really did it for me. I am no fan of John Warner. His recent comments about the whole "wears the WMD" crap have really ticked me off too.

I've been saying this guy reminds me a lot of Clinton. It "could've" been totally innocent. We'll have to see.
To: iceskater
Yes, our RINO Senator John Warner opposed the nomination of Judge Bork...and is supporting the position of the Democrats, calling for an investigation of Bush.

why wouldn't a "journalist" wish to be acknowledged as the source?telling tales about Dims can be bad for your health. or if the lady was one of the dancers, she could lose her job.

Haven't I been saying this very thing? The guy gives me the creeps.
To: Theodore R.
But in 1978, he ran as a staunch, staunch conservative. John Warner had to run as a conservative in 78 because he was up against (and lost to) Dick Obenshain in the primary. Obenshain was killed in a plane crash in August and the GOP central committee replaced him with Warner.
