No argument from me on that. Anyone who makes it onto the rooster of a big league team is far better then any one of 1000 kids who played at the high school level.
My ponts were:
I could care less that this guy is gay.
and 2) The term "implosion" as used, implied an exageration of his career.
I did not say it then, but I will now: I believe his being gay was not the reason he did not make it in the big leagues. It is now his excuse for garnering attention and proclaiming his "victim" status. Quite frankly I am a little tired of people who look for excuses and try to pass the buck to others.
The more likely reason he did not make it was he could not hit the curve ball, or he was a sucker for a low and away pitch. Like many guys who jump from AAA or college to the bigs, if he had a weakness, it was found and exploited.
Believe me, if he could hit .290, drive in 100 runs and hit 30-40 homers, no team in baseball would care if he was gay.
