Rest assured that those who think they know everything about the creation and
"editing" of human life...
won't have any problem exercising their decisions about what is a "useful life" when
we're reaching the end of our lives...

I resigned when the House of Delegates voted, with debate, to recommend that the FDA make "emergency contraception" over the counter. The AMA has never given up any other control over any medical procedure until that move.

I'm curious about the "without debate" part. I wonder whether the measure was somehow buried in the committee's recommendations. There's an elaborate system of exceptions of numbered portions of resolutions in order to bring them forward for debate.

Yes, a few more like gcruse around these parts would be a good idea.

I would encourage you to ask your doctor if they are a member of the AMA.

Well, fewer than half of docs belong to the AMA now. Nevertheless, on this subject I say, 'good job, AMA'

Let me see if I got this straight.
You are asking people to CLICK HERE on a petition by an organization named grassfire, about which not only do you know nothing, but you have expressed doubts:

"thanks,...

I have reservations about them since I don't know who they are, why they do it, what is their mailing address and phone number and who is on their board. I've asked these "very simple" questions in about 30 e mails to them over the last 2 yrs. and have yet had one answered.

They must have some heck of a database on all us conservatives out there...Who knows maybe they are on the other side building information on us.

It appears that you share their credibility.

Quit the AMA?

Too late ...Coleus.

I'm a doctor in new york, a radiologist, who quit the AMA in disgust more than a year ago..

...when the then President of the AMA started making noises that I saw as hostile to my Second Amendment rights under the Constitution.

They keep on asking me to rejoin..and I keep on telling them that hell will freeze over before I rejoin an organization that attacks my civil rights.
