Thanks for calling me dearie.

Government does regulate morality. The laws that we live by are based on morals. The government enforces those morals. I have no problem with that.

Well, as soon as you tell me what laws were broken by this TV show, your argument will be relevent...

That being said, I think we both agree that much of what is on TV is filth. our only real disagreement is how to stop it. You want the government to step in and force it to stop, whereas I prefer to hit the purveyors of filth in the wallet...

Same goal, different tactics.

"Government does regulate morality."

Wrong. Government regulates behavior.

"The laws that we live by are based on morals."

Wrong. Some of the laws are founded on morals. Most of the laws are founded on moral hubris, which is a qualitatively different thing.

"The government enforces those morals."

Wrong. The government enforces the laws in an immoral manner - inequitably and hypocritically.

"I have no problem with that."

I'm sure you don't - and that moral passivity is the premier 'civic virtue' of all totalitarian regimes.

I, for one, won't be calling you 'dearie'. ;^)

Then shut up when your local school teaches Susie has two moms and gives condoms to your little stud son. Thats a government form of moral regulation as well.

You should have a problem, as our government is mandated to enforce individual rights and rule of constitutional law.
It does not enforce the 'moral' rules of men. These rules are wisely left to our establishments of religion, freely exercised.
