Thousands Rush to Southern Tehran to Help Demonstators
Students for Iranian Democracy ^ | June 20, 2003 | Information Service Staff Report

Thousands and thousands have rushed toward the southern poor suburbs of Tehran in order to help or support, by their presences, those who defied the Iranian regieme this afternoon in order to make a massive protest in the localities of Nassim Shahr and Eslam Shahr.

Heavy traffic jams are blocking most major traffic arteries which is unprecented for this area and shows the cement of unity solidifying between the different layers of the population.

Violent clashes rocked the area earlier in the afternoon as groups of demonstrators tried to approach the warehouses of the GTC where food and different items are stocked by the government.

The situation on the terrain is very tense and unusual as thousands of non residents are in the area waiting for the dark night in order to start the 11th consecutive night of protests.

The Student Movement Coordination Committee for Democracy in Iran reported that the demontrators have changed their tatics, simultaneously organizing small protest actions in various places and thus forcing Islamic militant groups aligned with regieme leader Ali Khamenei to disperse.

People in the major cities are helping demonstrators escape police, giving them shelter in their houses.

We need to send, in the following order: 1) Weapons and ammo 2) Translations of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution in Farsi.

The rest will take care of itself.

Yes indeedy, lots of armaments. Also advisers, both inside and outside Iran. The Iranian language broadcasts from the US should be drastically increased also (a la Radio Free Europe).

Finally, start seriously planning an Osirak type hit on their nuclear processing facilities, and fast. This should be done independently of the stage of the revolution. A few B2 bombers should do it.

I wonder if some of those "human shields" ---the liberals from Europe and some from the USA are headed over there to protect the protestors from the government?

Hardly. They would rather protect the government from the protestors!

We have already done our bit. We took their tired , hungry, etc. Iranians came here as refugees, fleeing the fundamentalists. Now they have been to our universities, and they are prosperous and organized, in LA, especially. Let them handle it. It is their cousins who are demonstrating. If they have learned enough to run their own country, they will prevail.

Oh, I remember him! I remember him talking to, and rallying the troops, and it reminded me of him. What a coincidence! For all we know, there may be a distant family connnection. I suspect we had more than a few of descendants of that family fighting in the Revolutionary War(Scot-Irish in Penn.), the Civil War, and the world wars.

Sadly, Iran is different from the other muslim states. They had a big taste of U.S. goods, services, and technology before Komeni took over.

Many of their scientists, technocrats, and engineers were educated in the U.S.
