I wish a school system in a major city would implement the Eddie Eagle program for a few years, and see what happens. I'll bet it would be a positive thing.
The only thing that bothers me about guns in other peoples homes, is that although my children know how to act around guns, etc. I am sure not every parent takes the time to educate their children about gun safety. Of course, living in mid GA most households have at least one hunter, so I guess actually a lot of them do.
If kids knew gun safety (Eddie Eagle program) there would be no need to ask anyone anything about guns in their homes.

"I wish a school system in a major city would implement the Eddie Eagle program..." I'm sure this does happen. However, the liberal press will NOT publicize it.
But -- what happens when there is an accident at one of these "safety" courses: the liberal press puts it on the front page as "yet another" example of how guns might just go off by themselves, even if they're handled by a supposed pro.

That's just begging for them to find it on their own, without guidance.
