That's not quite the way a University of Pennsylvania report puts it. But that's the underlying message of a just-released study confirming sharply reduced recidivism rates for Texas inmates who've completed an innovative joint venture between Chuck Colson's Prison Fellowship Ministries and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Which explains how President Bush found himself in the Roosevelt Room on Wednesday shaking hands with a convicted murderer.

Jesus is far and away the greatest force for good in the universe. When we embrace Christ, we embrace good. When we reject Christ, we embrace evil. Why our government wants to reject the very thing that gave America its goodness and greatness, is the mystery of iniquity of the last forty years. The good news, every 40 years or so the pendulum swings. Its about to swing back in ways most people can't even comprehend.

Anyone can change their ways. Criminals are not excluded. A sinner is a sinner is a sinner. You can be behind bars, repent and change. Nothing new about that.

well, let's see what Hillary can do with this same program! Wiccan outreach for literacy, satanists for the earth...

No, this program sounds nice but is fraught with difficulties. And politically correct churches that go with the program will in effect get subsidies.

No, no, no to faith-based initiatives! Think of what the govt. did to charity when it produced welfare and you'll see what I mean.

What needs to be done is to start the programs in school around the 1st grade. That is the answer to the problem.

I know, as I meant this type of program.

Chuck Colson's (Prison) k-12 Fellowship Ministries

Go to public school there is no God. Get arrested and go to Prison and all of a sudden Chuck Colson's (Prison) Fellowship Ministries shows up. That is the problem in America. The state says No God when it counts. But get in trouble and the state brings in God.

hmmmmmmmmmm

Hmmm. Chuck Colson, Mullah Omar... Taliban, Evangelical... what's the difference, huh?

Spoken like a true pampered Westerner. Deny your own heritage at your own risk.

Well, I'm sure Colson's Prison Ministries is a fine program. Please see the points I made in post 5 for my real concerns. This FBI is just WAITING to be hijacked! And no one seems to be thinking ahead.

As I'm sure you agree, the govt. is not the solution--quite the contrary!

Too many in our government roday wants us all to worship them, a false idol and not God himself or his most holy Son, Jesus.
