Principles considered "business as usual" have gone into the sewer, thanks to the Clintons.

He wrote a book, and then pushed it off on unions and other Democrat interest groups as a means of fund-raising, as I recall.

Yes, it was his way of getting aroung the ban on honoraria for speaking. He would require bulk purchases of the book by the organization in return for speaking there.

I think that this is how Congressman Wright of Ft Worth was forced out for ethics violations. These folks never learn. A book is not designed to cover up the cost of an event and enrich a member of congress.

No one in law enforcement will touch hillary no matter what she does. Is the the value of fbi files? Or is there another reason?

hillary could line a thousand people up, cut their throats on world wide televison and no one in law enforcement would utter a peep.

Recall Senator Orrin Hatch's "We can't indict a sitting First Lady", quip.

He was wrong on one fact: She is no lady.

He should have been wrong on another fact: No one should be above the law.

We have since learned the hard way that some are.

I think I speak for everyone here, when I say "Thank God she's their problem."

Paul,
Someone like Hillary could only be a problem for the democrats because she would never survive as a Republican. This is primarily because the liberal media would destroy her before she became so powerful.

They have destroyed other Republicans careers based on far less. Newt, Bork, Lott, Livingston, Quayle are a few that come to mind.

Could you imagine the press that a conservative would get if she was a Hillaryesque in her style and dealings? NO, there is no bias in the media, is there?

Can you name the Republican who had to resign over this kind of "Love me, love my book" type tactics?

The tv was on to Dave for a bit in the other room and I caught it in this room (didn't see it, just heard it since I was at the computer). But, I sensed he was surprised at the lack of applause. Heck, I sure was considering it was in New York.

Still, I find it odd that it would take so long to get a fairly accurate count of units sold. The larger chains must certainly have elborate point-of-sale systems that can report by SKU number, and in this era of large ERP back office computing systems one would think they could establish retail sales levels daily, but what do I know.

Compared to other consumer industries, publishing is antiquated. Yes, various chains can keep up with their own sales, but that obviously doesn't present an accurate picture.

As far as industry-wide sales figures, there are constant articles about the fact that there is no infrastructure in place to accurately track sales. Authors reguarly complain that even their royalty statements are obscure to the point of being impossible to decipher. Given all this, and like I said, it's reported and discussed regularly, it's pretty amusing that all at once there seems to be some state-of-the-art system in place for tracking the sales of this one book.

On the upside, if one needs a good book to read while being administered an enema, this book is THE perfect distraction.
Wouldn't it merely replace what the enema removes, assuring a rather constant "throughput"? >:o
