If there is no such thing as a human SOUL - there can be no such thing as RIGHTS from 'natures GOD.'

Either natures GOD extends these 'rights' with the soul - as the founders wrote upon creation, or all 'rights' or lack of rights are merely defined by other men.

Not only is there a human soul (as different from a rabbit soul, or an oak soul, or an archaea soul, there is a human spirit, and it is the human spirit God has placed within the human soul which raises us out of the animal kingdom. As far as we know, no other living thing common to Earth has a spirit, but there are plenty of 'beings' in the universe who have spirits, they just don't reside on this Earth, other than humankind.

your second option is the correct answer.

for all their flowery language, the founders understood that it is humans who define and gaurantee rights. they were not about to sit back and wait for God to do it.
