[history]
Let's talk about the upside first: The computer-generated Hulk is indeed very realistic and convincing. In fact, all the special effects are good, very subtle and artfully done. There's rarely a time when the computer side of this movie doesn't pay off.

That commie punk Nolte is in it? That's all Friedman had to say to keep me away.

Jennifer Connelly is fineOr was until she joined the trend of emaciated actresses and lost the incredible curves she sported in films such as "the Rocketeer," "the Hot Spot" and "Career Opportunities."
Connelly in "the Rocketeer":
Connelly last year:
Damn. Someone hand that girl a sandwich.
To: MattinNJ
LOL! I think it's going to be a big hit - the critics don't like it at all, so it must be good.

Eric Bana comes from the Josh Hartnett school of acting, which does not have advanced placement courses, trust me. I liked Josh Hartnett and Eric Bana in 'Blackhawk Down'.

True dat. Why is is that most every successful actress in Hollywood turns emaciated and spindly in no time?

Good. I want a Hulk that's dark and menacing.
Remember the low-point of the Batman comics, where Batman would walk down the street, in broad daylight, waving and smiling to the kids? What crap.
This just means that the casual moviegoers will stay out of my way when I rush to see it.

Oh, man. Connelly was my favorite thing about "The Rocketeer" (I'm an utter sucker for brunettes). What is it with these actresses? Man, I hope that someone will bring back curves to Hollyweird...

hey, even the recent Spider Man sucked...big comic success does not mean big screen success.
You want action...go see Matrix Reloaded in IMAX. I GUARANTEE you will walk out exhausted, physically exhausted from that cinematic joyride.

Nick Nolte gives a great performance as David Banner, the Hulk's crazy father.
Really stretching his acting chops by playing crazy.

Just damn.... My five year old was really looking forward to this movie. He even has a Hulk T-Shirt and the big Hulk Hands. Saw the trailer at the Rugrat movie over the weekend. It doesn't look like it's for children at all.
What braintrust decided to go for dark and gloomy? The children's market would have been a long-term goldmine.
Just damn....
To: Frank_Discussion
That rule doesn't hold when the complaints are that the movie is dull, without enough action, and too dramatic.

Didn't Eric Bana play the badass in Blackhawk Down? The one that, as soon as he came back to base, he reloaded and jumped on the next vehicle out to go back to the streets.

Well, considering SM has grossed nearly $900 million worldwide, I'm pretty sure we can call it a success. And I did see Matrix Reloaded (although not in IMAX)--an absolute, utterly incoherent piece of crap. I was with a group of 6, and no one could tell what happened afterwards. Diff'rent strokes.
