That was my thinking too. I'll have to be honest with you though, after Waco I realized the FBI wasn't much better than the BATF, if at all.
Both agencies soiled themselves during that fiasco. I'm not exhonerating anyone from the justifiable criticism they deserve, including the Davidians, but as a law enforcement agency you have to conduct yourself in a professional above reproach manner. Sadly, I don't think either agency came even close.
Koresh may have been a nut, that doesn't give government agencies the right to act nutty.

Yep, better put your flame retardent pajamas on.

Because the ATF ihas practically no oversight, they declared 7.62X39 AP and 7.62 NATO (.308) AP as "pistol" ammunition. If they can find ONE example of a pistol that uses the AP rifle ammo they will declare the ENTIRE type of ammuniition handgun ammo

There IS an imminent threat to public LIBERTY whenever the BATF does anything.

Sounds like a job for the Tyranny Response Team...there is one in Washington State.

The FBI stood up and said that they did not want the ATF agents because when you mix polluted water with good water, you get polluted water.
Thanks for the laugh of the day.

You can get a barrel for a Thompson Contender in practically any caliber you want. For some reason, the ATF hasn't outlawed .30-06 AP ammo.
Yet.
Buy all you can afford.

BATF = US Gestapo. How did the German Gestapo get dismantled? Sadly, the BATF is here to stay.

Kewl. Where can we buy this?

"Officially -- [B]ATF won't say much at all." Of course they are tight-lipped. It takes time to compose a credible-sounding collection of lies and disinformation ...

Koresh may have been a nut... There are a lot of odd people in this world, and only a very very small percentage are dangerous. It's a very open question whether Branch Davidians were all that nutty. "Branch Davidian" mean they are a splinter group of Seventh Day Adventists. Ooooooo, that sounds dangerous! Better burn them!
What next? Surrounding charismatic Lutheran sects with tanks?

Yep. BTW: Isn't the ATF now in the Department of Homeland Security?

how many citizens did they kill?
To: Blood of Tyrants
I'm no expert on guns, but I have seen enough news about new infantrymans' personal arms that high velocity and AP capability are key to these weapons. And if RKBA is understood to mean citizens can get whatever an infantryman would usually carry - WTF! It sounds like this ban is on VERY dubious constitutional ground.

The BATF ceased to be a legitimate federal agency at Waco.Didn't Reagan, well before the Waciaso, call ATF a rogue agency that should be disbanded?

Interesting Article. There seems to be a rash of shut downs and shop closures in the area lately
As of December, the ATF had recommended eight license revocations in the past three years in a region that includes about 6,800 gun dealers in Washington, Idaho, Alaska, Oregon, Hawaii and Guam. It also issued 31 warning letters, held 17 warning conferences and recommended that 50 license applicants be turned down. Twenty-eight licensees voluntarily surrendered their licenses after ATF investigations.

since when did being a nut mean the BATF can kill you?
Hint: When the media stooges start calling your house a "compound," you had better watch out.
