I read that he had abused her and he had beaten her up for 25 years. Perhaps he threatened to hunt her down and kill her if she ever left him. It was a case of Vehicular Suicide in his case.

It's amazing how, when reading about a tragedy like this and starting to feel a LITTLE bit of compassion for the wife (assuming it really was an accident), any feeling of sympathy can immediately be killed when a lawyer starts placing blame on a dead guy.

He's dead. Who says she didn't make this story up to get off the hook.

I wouldn't believe a single thing from anyone who is even remotely involved with this case - PARTICULARLY the lawyer, and including reports about how "distraught" she is. He beat her and so she was justified in running him down - how convenient for her. How very convenient for getting off the hook scot free.

It appears that the headline is wrong. She didn't miss him.

"If anyone knew Joanne and Frank, no one could imagine that this would have happened to end the relationship," the sister said. Sheesh, sis, it ended a lot more than the RELATIONSHIP!

Oh good Lord.
"Your Honor, sure my client ran over her husband, leaving little more than a bloody grease spot where he once had a head. However, we ask for the court's mercy on the basis that she is a grieving widow."

Hey, it was such an easy target, I had to take the shot. :-)

She didn't know she ran him over? "Now you see him now you don't." Wonder if she's distantly related to the woman who ran over her husband at the hotel parking lot about 3-4 months ago (she said the same thing--she didn't see him) when she caught him playing around with his mistress after he told his wife he would give up his mistress. Unfortunately, that woman had a witness--her daughter--that testified against her. "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned." Watch out, you guys in cyberland!

It's a variation on the chutzpah joke.
"Have mercy on me, your honor, I'm a WIDOW!!!"
