Apparently AOL is not letting the Townhall.com OpinionAlert get through to their subscribers. We are working frantically to find a solution but AOL is being quite stubborn despite several calls from our technical staff and hundreds of calls from all of you. We will keep you informed and will be working on some short term solutions in the next few days. [10:58 PM 11-Jun-03 | Jonathan A. Garthwaite]
Considering the update from TownHall (full text below), I'll take both. We'll see if the AOLers don't get their OpinionAlerts tomorrow morning.
AOL follies
It turns out the AOL subscribers haven't been receiving the Townhall.com OpinionAlert for the past two weeks. Not good as there are about 10,000 of them. I called AOL last week and was told they weren't blocking us. I asked the hamsters in the mail server whether there was a problem on our end. Apparently not. Just yesterday, AOL admitted that they were blocking us because about 20 people had complained. Seeing as how my email is full, and I do mean "full" of subscribers fuming that they aren't receiving their email from us, I can only imagine the calls AOL must be getting. Thank You.Also, the 500 or so of you who detailed your conversations with AOL's tech support flunkies really made a difference. AOL claims they've turned off the block and you should begin receiving the OpinionAlert again on Wednesday morning. If you don't, let me know.
For those of you who don't know what the Opinion Alert is, it's time to discover the greatest email service (free) ever developed.
