President Bush continued his long weekend in Kennebunkport, Maine today, and celebrated Father's Day with his family. Bush made a brief appearance for reporters, and stated that he still believed there is hope for peace in the Mideast, but that the free world 'must deal harshly with Hamas and the killers.' Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Those pictures of W and his Dad are fabulous! I saved most of them! Of course, I will never find them again. LOL!
One of these days I MUST organize my Bush pictures!
Tell Mr. OWF I hope his throat gets better quickly. That's got to be miserable this time of year.

Okay!
I almost didn't go, because it was raining it's guts out when I left..I decided to give it a try anyway..
It was an overcast and murky day..but it did stop raining.
Kennebunkport was crawling with tourists, I couldn't park anywhere in the village to try and get some pictures of it..
so I took Ocean Avenue which leads right to the Bush Estate.
I parked my car just in front of the checkpoint, where the Secret Service (?)guys were scoping out people and vehicles.
I asked The Secret Service guy (dark haired babe magnet)
if I could walk beyond the checkpoint and get closer to Walkers Point to take pictures for you guys..
He said "Yes, you may, but you are to keep walking, you are NOT to stop and take a picture.."
Me: "But Sir, the photos won't come out well if I am walking as they are being taken..then I got, "the look."
Gulp.
One of the locals told me that he thought W left for D.C in his helicoptor earlier in the day...Bummer!
I took pictures of the Estate, St. Annes Chapel where W attended that wedding ( the Bridal tents and stuff were still set up today)..
I took pictures of some of the mansions along that route, and the rugged coastline..and some Victorian houses that are to die for.
Also took some pictures of The Arundel Inn, which is less that 1/2 a mile (or so) from Walkers Point..and would be a great place for Freepers to get together at!! (Hint hint)
As I headed back for the car, the Secret Service guys merely look at me and nodded.
I said "Have a nice day." Silence... (Yikes!)
I'm sorry I didn't catch a picture of W for you, but I think you will enjoy the pictures, and I will try and post them within the next few days..
It was very cool at the coast today, I am still trying to warm up from it!

Is it just me, or does W really look a lot like Robert Redford in his heyday? This pic, and one or two others look more like Redford than W.
Of course, it could just be that my eyes can't distinguish levels of gorgeous over a perfect 10 or so. :-)

Thanks

He just gave me a flat and pointed look..
I kept moving!
Before the checkpoint, there are park benches and stuff, and you can hang out there all you like, but I don't have so hot a camera, so I tried to get closer.
You need a telephoto lens and all that fancy gear to see anything from back there.

Ya should have told him that Gramma and Ohio sent you to meet with Dubya.
(Since Gramma's on speed-dial, and Ohio.... well, I won't dredge up too much about that one.)

Thanks, It was a good day, Started off with a phone call from my grandsons, simulatniously screaming into the phone "HAPPY FADDERS DAY POP POP!" I didn't get to see my daughter or the grandsons, they have a Flu bug, so I spent the day helping my wife with her Turtle Pond.

It was very cool at the coast today, I am still trying to warm up from it! I live in the wrong place! It's 92 degrees here and it's after 7 at night.
Too bad you didn't have any Bush sightings today. I am anxious to see your photos though. And actually, I am glad the Secret Service is really checking out people and vehicles. We can't have anything happen to our man now, can we?
It rained its guts out eh? LOL! Cute!
To: Brad's Gramma
Well, why didnt ya tell them I was coming?
Sheesh

Ms Behavin: Thanks so much for the tongue-in-cheek review of your day in Kennebunkport -- I'm definitely adding this to my list of places to visit in the NEAR future. [Question: Forgive my forgetfulness, but to what office was your husband recently elected?]
Ohio: Ms Behavin's reference to a possible freeper gathering in Kennebunkport, reminded me that we need to plan another visit before my orientation schedule begins the second week of July!!! What do you think?
