President Bush continued his long weekend in Kennebunkport, Maine today, and celebrated Father's Day with his family. Bush made a brief appearance for reporters, and stated that he still believed there is hope for peace in the Mideast, but that the free world 'must deal harshly with Hamas and the killers.' Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Is it just me, or does W really look a lot like Robert Redford in his heyday?Well...maybe. I used to love the way Robert Redford looked in his heyday. I actually met him when he came to our newsroom once sometime during the '80s. Unfortunately this was when he was starting to let his politics show and the leftward lean replaced his blue eyes, freckles and adorable smile. That was it for me. No longer good looking.
I hate to say this, but I realize this particular photo of our President Dubya reminds me of Don Johnson in his heyday...maybe it's the boat and sunglasses..."Miami Vice." But hey, President G.W.H. Bush used to remind me of a slender John Wayne. (actually, he still does)
The good thing about the Presidents Bush is they are NOT actors. Genuine, honest, caring leaders who also happen to be mighty fine looking men. *L*

Clinton always tried TO cry .. where as Bush always try not to .. That spoke volumes to me."You-better-put-some-ice-on-that" Clinton reminds me of the "phony-crying-in-court" Scott Peterson.

#39---LOL!! That's GREAT!!!

rintense, what a terrific thread!! This is GREAT!
It's so obvious that Prez and his Dad truly love and respect each other. These are fakey photo-ops (like a certain infamous "dance on the beach"--barf!)
A blessing!!!

MS. B---thank you so much for the effort! We will SO enjoy the pictures when you get them. I can visualize how beautiful that area is. I have a thing for Victorian houses, too. I used to stop and snap pictures of any special one that I came across in my travels, and kept them in a photo album together. Always dreamed that one day I would have one. (didn't happen)
I hope you and MR. B are far along the way to mending--and beyond that vicious cough.

Next day WOW for these pictures. They are terrific. I tried to get into Free Republic last night and couldn't. I thought they must have been working on their server, but alas, this morning there was my ping.
Thanks rintense for all the hard work you put into this. I like your tag line by the way.
Tomorrow, I start working the day shift and process back into the military and get my new uniforms. Being on days will make it more difficult to be on the dose at night, so I'll probably be a next day doser most of the time.
We FINALLY have good weather. This weekend was beyond gorgeous, it was very nearly perfection! I have roses and peonies blooming and strawberries ripening. The sunshine is marvelous. We opened ALL the windows and put in the screens and enjoyed the beautiful days. Hope everyone out there had a great weekend too.

I put the kids pool up out back ... the kids turned purple, but it didn't bother them a bit .. THE SUN WAS OUT!!

Mike, I'm so sorry for your Friday the 13th experience. I would have been terrified. Glad you're OK and hopefully the car can be fixed, though it will probably never be the same, they never are, are they? No more taking chances, ok?
I ordered some neat things for my Dad for a belated Father's Day gift. I ordered him the Cold War Medal set, which the Active Military did NOT approve for wear on the uniform (rats). He will be able to wear it on his American Legion uniform for those special patriotic occasions. I also ordered him a service star banner with 4 stars on it representing the 4 kids he has in the current active military. I should probably make sure he has a hankie within easy reach when he opens that one! I hope they come quickly as I'm supposed to see him this weekend.

I also tried to get into Free Republic last night and couldn't, so am enjoying these pictures on the morning after. I feel like I am on vacation looking at these photos. I visited in Maine last summer, driving from CT all the way up to Bar Harbour. It was beautiful.
I'm mostly a next day doser myself, ODC, so welcome to the day shift. Congrats on finally getting processed. We've had those La. strawberries ripe down here for a while, ODC. Strawberry shortcake...yummm.
